I have never posted here before. I am a married male in my mid-30's. Both my wife and I noticed that when I tan, san clothing, that my genital area seems to get almost black while the rest of my skin tans more brown. Have any of you (men) experienced this or do you know why this happens? Thank you all so much.

I think it's because it is more naturally darker than the rest of your body anyway.

I think mine do to, but lately, haven't been out in the sun in a very long time, so I don't quite remember. But it seems that I noticed it being slightly darker.

It also depends on your skin in general. Some people naturally tan darker all over while people like me takes a lot of work to get my skin to tan naturally. I'm rather freckled, so I look more like a dalmation than a hound.

My mother told us that if she had puppies instead of kids, we would all be spotted.

If you notice, a baby boy when born, has a very discolored genital area, quite red I think, and it is slightly darker when compared to a whiter skin like mine.

The skin of my penis and ball sac are naturally darker than the rest of my skin to start with. However, I've noticed that my smooth pub area tans darker that the belly just above it.

Consider this though. The pubic area is sort of in a recessed area between the top of the legs and the belly (some have it more recessed relative to this). Could some of it be due to reflected light in addition to direct light?

I am a female college student home and was raised as a naturist since I was a young. I am the only girl (except my mom) with five brothers (both older and younger) and I have noticed that they get darker in the pubic region than elsewhere. During the summer we vacation near a beach where a group of us meet each summer and play nude soccer (actually I am the only girl left in the group - I really enjoy playing nude on the beach). One of the boys (college student) that I really like has a more olive tone to his skin (if any of you saw the pic of me and the soccer "team" he is the one to the far left)and I must say his pubic region gets very dark (yes, I've been observing and must say it is good looking!).
