Hey everybody,
We're back! What a trip!
We started off last Saturday by going to White Tail for a day of sand volleyball (which I found that I suck at-high school was a long time ago

), water volleyball (not too bad), and just playin' in the pool. Went to see Rush in concert that night at the amphitheater, and they put on as great a show as they always do. Then Sunday we packed up and headed for Florida. I was completely amazed at how light the traffic was through the whole trip. Does anyone know that 95 is there? I even got some clothes-free driving time in, although I did wait until it got dark.
We got to our friends house in Rockledge Monday afternoon, and just spent the day looking around. We drove into Cocoa, just north, and Merritt Island, then Cocoa Beach proper. Went to Ron Jon's (expensive! where else can you by a $45 pair of flip-flop's?), then walked on the beach for just a few minutes. Our friend took us out to eat, and I can now honestly say that I've eaten alligator. Tastes a little like chicken.
Our friend had to go to work out of town Tuesday, so we were on our own. We had seen the signs for New Smyrna Beach on the way down, so I knew which way to go. When we got to 44 I followed the directions in the North American Guide to Nude Recreation, and we drove through some nice resort beach areas and out onto the Canaveral National Seashore. Followed the road all the way to the end (have to put all the nudist wierdo's away from everybody else, ya know), and parked in the very last open parking place at lot 5. We walked out onto the beach, and after a few yards were in the nude section. We found a nice spot, put up our umberella, and got out of those nasty clothes

.
I've heard a few people mention that it took them a few minutes to get comfortable enough to undress. Well, I must be wierd or something, because it took me about 10 seconds to be naked after I got that umberella up. I don't know if it was because I'm accustmed to being naked around others at White Tail, or because there were only about 60 people spread out over the whole beach, or what, but neither of us wasted any time being dressed. From the forbidden dunes (sea turtle nests) to the water is maybe 60 to 70 yards, and the beach itself maybe a half-mile. The population was light: just after you entered the nude section was a fair sized clump of people, but after that you only saw another person or couple every so often.
The water was still a bit cool, so we didn't spend much time there. Mostly we just read, talked, and walked on the beach. It was GREAT!! to be able to walk the entire length of the beach without having to worry about somebody freaking because you don't have any clothes on: I just wish the beach was longer. I thought about seeing what the reaction would have been if I walked back past the sign into the 'clothed' beach, but didn't want to push my luck (like the guy who went up onto the dunes- I don't need a $5000 fine, thank you very much!).
The day was great, and we stayed until just before the monsoon hit around 5. We only spent that one day at the beach, but it was enough: I now have much more color, most of it red. That's quite a sun you guys have down there. I'm already looking like a lizard from the peeling, and I used spf 30!
The rest of our visit was just normal tourist stuff. We went to the Kennedy Visitor's Center, saw all the sights, took alot of pictures, made alot of illegal u-turns. We even found out, to our surprise, that our friend and his daughter were pretty much nudists around the house. Too bad she had a visitor that week, and clothes were the norm around the house

.
All in all it was a really great trip. We really needed it. Nobody had to cook for a week, so we found alot of good restaurants (and a few not so good). We went back to Cocoa Beach to visit the pier, where we did see one topless young girl learning to swim, and even went back to Ron Jon's (I know, I know). I even found some parts for my bike when we stopped at the Datona Beach Harley Davidson shop and Arlen Ness shop. And I thought Ron Jon's was expensive.
We got home Saturday, and the wife has been joining me naked around the house alot more than before

. When we got home she said it felt wierd to wear clothes, and felt good to get out of them after so long. We went back to White Tail yesterday, and after the CNC next week we'll have been there three weekends in a row. A new record! Today is the last day of our vacation, so we're going to Busch Gardens, then back to work tomorrow.
SOB
Anyway, I know I rambled, and most of it isn't of much concern, but there you have it. We finally made it to a nude beach, and loved it. We will be making it back, sometime. We're even talking about going to the nude week in Mexico next year.
All I have to do now is catch up on a weeks worth of missed posts, to see what everybody else has been up to.
God Bless
