School is over. Grades were submitted. Books have been inventoried. The room has been cleaned. The end of year assessment is done.

Sounds like its time to hit the beach.

NEPA and New Jersey are in the midst of several days of the 3 Hs (hazy, hot and humid). Definitely a beach day!!!

I'm leaving for Sandy Hook/Gunnison Beach within the hour!

For those of you that have been to Gunnison and are able to go to the beach today, I'd like to chat with you. I'll be the balding man in the blue chair reading a copy of "The Book". (Had to add a little more in the description because I am sure that there are many balding men at the beach).

Wishful Thinking!

June 17 2004, 8:10 AM

After posting the pervious message, I found that there is a list of "things that (I) could do today since (I)don't have school"

The beach will have to wait for another day.

There are no "Ray Bans" in heaven.

We'll miss Ray Charles.

But I'm sure Reagan is enjoying a personal concert.

Georgia on my Mind

June 18 2004, 10:57 PM

Ray Charles caught the feeling of going home in "Georgia on my mind". You know as much as I love Georgia, my birthplace and home, I wouldn't mind if you substituted the name of some place you hold dear to your heart when you sing along to that song.

While we wait to go to our heavenly reward, there is much of God's presence and handiwork right here at hand. I'm not gonna take any cheap shots at our brother who had some responsibilities to attend to, but there comes a time when you have to set your tools down and say, I've done enough work for the week, I'm going to rest, relax and worship at the beach or some other peaceful spot.

I am not a stickler about the Sabbath, but I am sure that all of us need a day of rest and that could very well be a day at a nude beach.

I talked to a lady the other day and she was so worn out from cooking breakfast, then packing up for a long drive to church for Sunday school, morning church service, driving home, cooking lunch for her family, driving back to church, going to afternoon church committee meetings and evening service, then cooking supper when they came dragging home, that she needed another day of rest to recover from the Christian "day of rest", Sunday.

We need real rest. God is not fooled by all this activity done in his name and even our bodies are not fooled by it. It still ain't rest! And if I can find a place where I can shed my clothes, I can unwind all the more. So have a good and blessed weekend, y'all!
