Help!!!

Gotta do this fast: I'm running late(again).

Any of you that would be willing, please pray for me today. I'm going to see about a new job after work this afternoon, and it's making me a bit nervous.

I've been at my current job over 11 years, and I'm one of those people who would rather stay at a bad job than start over, not knowing how things will turn out. It's taken years to take a step of faith this large in this area.

Help!!

God Bless you all.
Kevin

Good luck.

The young man who's listed as executer on our will stayed in a job that he hated for a long time. About a year ago, he got another job and is liking it very much.

I was lucky at Exxon in not having but one or two supervisors (and for short periods of time) that I didn't like too much.

Good luck. Calm down.

Changing jobs can be hard

July 7 2004, 8:09 AM

Especially after being at one employer for that long you have more things to think about like "Do you really want to give up that extra vacation"?

The other end is job satisfaction. If you are not happy, that can affect many things including your health.

Got it

July 7 2004, 8:16 PM

Thanks for the votes of confidence, guys.

I got the job. I could start tomorrow if I wanted to, but will stay at my current job till the end of the month.

Found out that the job was mine for the asking, all I had to do was ask. My soon-to-be new boss did a good job of talking me up. I don't even work for him yet and he seems to appreciate me more than the people where I'm at now.

But as far as loosing all that extra vacation for being in one place so long? HA! Been there over 11 years, and still only get one week a year. But that's normal in my line of work. That's why weekends have become so important to me lately, I guess.

Anyway, hurray for me!
God Bless you guys, and {{{ everybody at BACN forum }}}

Kevin

Congratulatons!

The title says it all. Good for you.

I've known a number of people who actually damaged their lives and personality by staying too long in a job that was eating them from the inside out. Life's too short to do that.

Hopefully the new job carries a raise with it, or at least the potential for one in the near future. But even if not: some things truly are more important than money. One of them is that you have to like the guy you see in the mirror every morning. Another is that our work should be such that we get up in the mornings looking forward to it.

That's great

July 8 2004, 6:18 AM

Now let us see where this new job will go. The Lord knows best what we need and provides it at just the right moment. God bless and let us know how it works out. Might even find a nude friend or two who knows. WAB

"The Lord knows best what we need and provides it at just the right moment."

It's strange: Many friends and family have been telling me to change jobs for a long time, but I haven't tried until now. Something just didn't feel right for some reason. But now, in the last two weeks or so, everything has just sort of fallen into place. The whole thing has gone completely painless.

I don't always listen well, but I feel the Lord was telling me to stay where I was, although for what reason I don't know. Now, I believe He has given the okay to move on. I feel comfortable about it now, where I didn't before. His timing is always best, so I'll just follow where He leads me.

Great! But late for me

July 9 2004, 6:27 AM

I've been out of pocket for a couple of days and I missed the opportunity until two days after the fact! Always late it seems.

But congrats on the new job. You'll have to explain the new job to us.

Boyd
