Depends on whether you like being told you have a beer belly.
I wonder. How many read The Case For Christ? In it, the author devotes a separate chapter to each of many proofs for the Bible and for Christ. He makes a point in one of the chapters that the Book of Mormon can't be proved by anything. It's just a book that some nut wrote.
Wonder if that is the case with Buddha's teachings? Could also be the case for the Quran?
I read the Case for Christ. Great book! It's a book one should read several times over (not that I did of coure) so they can answer when others try to "demythify" Christ. Or try to make the Christ what he was not.
Personally, I don't believe Jesus had long hair like it is shown in many pictures.
I was brought up in a country where Christianity was not the most numerous religion. The largest in number was Hindoo, and there were many Muslims and Budists in the county as well. While I went to a Christian school (Methodist) I was given an understanding of the beliefs of all the major religions in the country. It staggers me what Male Bovine Faeceas that is promoted by Christians about other peoples beliefs is getting around.
I have learnt a lot about God from members of other faiths and this has strenghthened my relationship with God. Some of the concepts I have of heaven and hell come from these other faiths, some of my attitudes to prayer comes from these other faiths. it all I had to operaye from was what I was taught from within my own faith I do not think my spiritual life would be as strong as what it is.
We need to never denigrate the beliefs of others rather we need to promote our own. If our faith is not positive enough that we need to use negative promotion then we have lost our way and we need to go back to Jesus and look at ourselves rather than looking at the other faiths negatively.
When I was young and nasty, iused to say that my sister looked just like me, fine for a man but she should shave off the beard!
My sister did not speak to me for a long time!
