Boyd you have put in words my concept of Hell when you said that Hell was separation from God, rather than eternal life in the firey pits of hell. Conversly my concept of heaven is being so close to God that there is no separation. How wonderfull that would be!

and am still amazed at the number of people who insist on "eternal life in hell"! That is eternal death. Eternal life is WITH God. Death is without God. The major suffering that Jesus endured on the cross was not physical but spititual. For the first and only time He was seperated from God the Father by the sin He endured for us. Bearone
Isn't it wunderful then that by being connected to God every minute of every day we can have heaven on earth, we do't have to wait until we die to be with our Lord we can be with him while we live our physical life. As jesus said we need to die to self and be born again in him.
I interpret this as we need to let go of our Self and let God take over. This can be very scary for some who love being totally in control.
