My friends. Its been over a year and a half since I've posted anything here because of various mental and spiritual problems, but a friend has a need that I thought I should post and get some prayer about from everyone in this site. The father of a friend of our daughter's died suddenly the other day of a blood clot traveling to his brain. No signs, no notice, just living one minute and dead the next. Our two daughters have been friends and band members together since high school (both now in college). It has devastated our daughter, so you can imagine what its done to her friend and her mother. Fortunately, the mother is a veterinarian, so she has a career that can sustain them and they probably won't lose their home or anything more devastating on top of losing a father/husband. I don't know his age, but since our kids are all the same age, I'm guessing he was about 48-52. Its gotten me thinking, too about many things like mortality and what would we do if the other were to die. After all that, my request is that you just all say a quick prayer for Kelly and her mother so they can find the strength to keep going through this crisis. Its going to be a tough road ahead for them and I'm praying they will be led to us for any of the little things we can help them with.
Terry, It's good to hear from you again. I wish the circumstances where better. I have prayed just now for them and for you and family. An older pastor, who was my mentor when I started ministry almost 40 years ago, told me to "Be ready to pray, preach, or die on a moments notice". Stay close to them and be friend.
Thank you for sharing this with us. We do need to realize that we are mortal, God has no obligation to let us live to 80+ and we are fortunate to still be going.
Our prayers have gone up for them, may they allow God to take their lives and make them whole.
Thank you for your responses to my orginal mesage. Even though I realize many people don't post here, I know they are respponding in their own way. My daughter saw her friend today at school and she's doing off and on well/ She and her mother are trying to keep occupied so they don't dwell on the tragedy, but there are times of breakdowns and disbelief that it really happened. Mike (the father) willbe buried in Ohio with his parents and there's going to be a memorial Thursday evening we'll be going to. Thanks again.
