I was honest, but maybe shouldn't have said it.

I was driving the church van last night. They were also having one of every 2 weeks dinners before services. I got there a tad early, as I wanted to collect some town folks' leaves in my truck first and did this quicker than I figured. So, I went up to the felowship room and got something to drink and sat down.

The preacher got up almost immediately and commented that we had some new folks and that we all should introduce ourselves and tell something that we like to do. So, when my turn came, I said with complete honesty that I liked "gardening naked". Saw some smiles and maybe grins on some faces.

I left to take the van out. In the meantime, quite a few people met my wife as she arrived and told her what I had said. She chastised me later that evening about not knowing what is proper to say and that numerous people were offended and that the elders would likely contact me. She usually greatly exagerates things but has a better feel for human nature than my tactless self.

Wonder what I should do?

I think it's very likely what Peter might have said this about the way he liked to fish, but that wouldn't necessary make his saying it in the wrong place.

You said it

You made the statement, now let it rest and see what happens. If my past experiences prove anything, it is that the more I say the further my foot goes into my mouth. On occasion it may have been both feet in my mouth.
We all learn from the things we do or say. Continue your gardening and do not worry. Time will tell if you are in hot water. We all love you. WAB

You must remember that husbands are always in the wrong- it is a natural law.

So........?

Do you beleave garding naked is sin? If so what can the visit from the elders accomplish from your perspective? Could they disapline you? If so? So What! John Wesley Was Disaplined by his church and he died an Anglican. He did not establish his own church as a result, it was those who followed who broke away.
Wives all through history are constantly telling their husbands that they open their months and say the wrong things to the wrong people at the wrong time, mine espeacially or could it be that I am paryicularly bad at speacking at and about the wrong things.
By the way a few weeks ago I said I had applied for a new job, well I have just got home from the interveiw. and am now sitting down to lunch.

Be like little children.

Jesus said we should become like children. My remark came out just that way, with the honesty of a child, not thinking what some hog-tied-by-the-devil-teaching adults might think.

your right

Hey Ralph
You are right though about gardening naked, it is very enjoyable. I am slowly making my garden private enough to garden naked throughout. At present I have only got the area in the very front private enough. Yesterday I was out there and I counted 5 different species of Butterfly, 7 different birds species and I know that we have 6 differnt frog species. Just a good reason to get out into the garden.

The Job

November 6 2004, 3:41 AM

The job is Clinical Nurse Consultant, Psychiatry of the Aged. The work would be interesting and it is one of the areas that I have an interest in. The only downside is that it is Monday to Friday 8:30 to 5:00. Shift work pays more here in Australia even though the new position is a Higher clasification. Also with shift work I have been able to arrange my days so I can get up to 7 days off without taking holidays. I would not be able to do that in the new position.
I will know it I have the Job next week some time.
