Totally agree. It sounds like the mandatory sentencing laws based on emotions rather than common sense. Whatever Calif. does, Arizona will do next. Don’t remember the details but a few years ago a person was hauled into Mesa, AZ court for “butt crack” at an Arizona desert lake. The arresting officer thought it was offensive. On second thought, maybe he had a point there (just joking).
I am a 70 yr old married home nudist since I was a teenager. The wife of 49 yrs tolerates my nudity in the home and very private small backyard pool but does not participate other than an occasional SD at night.
It doesnt make seems justified. First of all Meagan was killed by a man not a female. Second, the man knew what he was doing was wrong, immoral and unloving. It was all based on one man's behavior of control and power. Thirdly, there were already laws making knapping, mo0lesting and killing illegal. Maybe someone can explain it in detail here. Meagan law will make illegal for a women to be topfree in public or at home or both. How will effect resorts and nude beach?
Megan's Law basically says that convicted sex offenders must register, so regular people will know where they live.
Apparantly, being convicted of "indecent exposure" makes one a "sex offender." And also apparantly, if a women exposes her breasts and is caught and successfully prosecuted for that, she has done something that makes her a convicted "sex offender."
That's what the lawyer in the story is trying to get changed, so that a sunbather is not listed in a directory anyone can see (and be stalked by someone truly perverted).
"We already have too many sexual assaults in society. This will fuel that fire, and if the women don't understand, that's because they don't think like a man," Thomasson said.
Well, Randy Thomasson should speak for himself, not all men! Apparently, he just told me what he would do!
I find it rather astonishing. Those kids didn't get this from just seeing it. Bet they got it from seeing and then hearing adult comments about it. Kids outside the US had no trouble with it at all.
No, as far as I know, there are no laws about software development other than the copywrite and patent laws.
I reminded in the posts talking about Megans law about how processes are developed when dealing with software development.
The author was Pete McBreen in "Questioning XP". Not to bore you with the details, he talks about how processes are developed and states that it really comes to fear. The thought process is:
1) Something bad happened
2) I must prevent this in the future
3) I will add to the process to make sure this avoided
It seems to me, the same things happens in laws.
Why are there gun control laws when we already have laws against murder and other crimes involving guns? Fear.
Why are there laws against nudity when there are already laws against lewd behavior? Fear.
Getting back to the topic(s) at hand, it would seem to me that a woman who is unclothed is probably not in a position to injure someone or infringe on your rights....
