I met with our pastor, friday, to talk about this. Went prepared with information about biblical scriptures where nudity is mentioned. Surprisingly, he agreed that the bible did not condem social nudity. He said it was a personal decision, and that, when he is confronted with any decision, he asks the questions, is it beneficial and does it bring glory to God. I truly believe the answer is yes to both. As for my wife, he mentioned the, don't eat meat when your with someone that believes it to be wrong, scripture. My wife still does not buy the fact that social nudity is not wrong. So little was accomplished, as far as being able to participate. But it was interesting to find out how my pastor felt.

You said that your wife does not buy into social nudity right now. If she is open to the evidence, she should eventually come around with your help. If she refuses to consider the evidence, that is a bad tendency that could show up again and again on a lot of issues, not just nudity.

For a lot of people in America, being nude is being naked, vulnerable. Clothes create a psychological barrier to the outside world that makes them feel protected. Perhaps she couched her objections in terms of right and wrong, but there may also be the simple lack of comfort with nudity among strangers. I have my own comfort limits. At some places where nudity is possible, I still may not feel ready to bare all.

But we cannot escape the fact that nudity is the natural human state. On a warm day, it is just more comfortable and our entire body is in touch with our natural surroundings, the gentle breeze, the warm sun, cool water, the bristly feel of shrubs, the softness of grass underfoot.

Your wife might be reluctant for you to go on solo nude trips because she thinks it is wrong for anyone to be nude, but maybe her main concern is perhaps some vague jealousy over imagined naked women you will be encountering on your nude jaunts.
