Last nights chat

April 20 2005, 6:43 AM

We had a great discussion last night. A total of six were here.

We chatted about families growing up naturists and some about the upcoming CNC in Va.

Thanks to all who participated,

Hope to see you all on the Chat room next week!

Sorry I Missed It

April 22 2005, 9:30 AM

I try to catch a few chats here and there to see what friends are up to these days, but this past Tuesday we were in Las Vegas for the N.A.B. (National Assn. of Broadcasters) convention for a few days. I work in church audio and my wife used to, so we like to see what's new in the field. More importantly, we get away for some marriage renewal. Ironically, despite its sexual atmosphere, Las Vegas is not a very nude-friendly town. There are a couple of small resorts in the area, but still not very open. However, we still got to roam around our room naked before and after hitting the convention floor and that was a great way to start and end the day.

So, hope to be able to converse in the future with everyone in chat. My wife has a public speakers chat also on Tuesday, but later on in the evening, so hopefully, we won't have to challenge each other for the 'puter.

Also, Boyd, good luck with your nude boundry pushing in your yard. Hopefully, you'll get a few more people in the U.S. to be nude-tolerant.

Terry

Some move forward, some back

April 23 2005, 7:33 AM

Glad to hear from you again, was getting worried.

I see you are keeping up with the new technology, and able to use some of it.
We just recently got a PC and projector to replace our overhead. So you see how far along we are. In fact, we are pretty blessed to get that. I just hope it does what they hope it would do, attract more youth.

I heard about Los Vegas, funny rules. They can prostitute, marry, divorce, remarry the same day, lose their entire fortune in one sitting, yet dare anyone to not wear clothing. Maybe its just as well they don't. No telling what it would look like with prostitutes who can get by with not wearing any clothing. That would put a bad....VERY BAD taste in naturism for others who don't know the difference.

As for my yard pushing: I had thought my wife started to relax a bit about it, knowing that I have done that for years, but since we had this little girl, she fears some local authorities will try to take the child away from us if the neighbors got funny about it, and she is not wanting me to venture out into the yard.

She says the laws are stupid and doesn't like them, but she truely fears bad things will happen. Even if there is only a 1% chance, she wouldn't want me to.

I relented.

However, she is still nude pro and wants to visit resorts and travel some this summer. So I better get my gear into gear and start finding ways to go places.

She is even OK with me driving nude, but our current (and only) car, '85 Ford LTD, is a bit low, and has signs on it with phone numbers. That may be more problematic than the late model Dodge Caravan we had before!

Good To Be Remembered

April 23 2005, 12:23 PM

Well, its good to see somebody remembers me and is concerned. Even though my conscious mind says that people care, my unconscious says that no one would miss me if I died tommorrow. I think many reading this site know what I mean. The irrationality of depression just threatens to consume you even though you're fighting it all the time and know what reality is, but a voice keeps telling you what isn't true. And what's worse is working in a church! That has pretty much driven me away from organized religion. Without going into too much detail, the politics and inside dealings are a horrible way to honor God. I've been told, "If its so bad, why don't you just get another job?" Looking into it (and praying aobut it) every day. As many of you know, "just getting another job," is like telling a depressed person, "just get over it." Finding the same pay level is tough. My wife worked for the same church, got fired over political things and found a job at Barnes and Noble for half of her previous pay. The good news is that she's learning a lot about publishing and we hope to start our own publishing company and put out a small devotional for women that would be for a different category of woman every month with daily devotions written by different women. Like you, Boyd, its a struggle to get off the ground, but we're keeping at it.

I guess my point is that if you're reading this board and have a problem, we're all with you here and have the same experiences to support you. God is with you as well.

Plus, my wife has also had a small concern over my front yard nudity (LOL). I go out in the morning with my robe open along the side of the house we rent at 5am. She thought I went all the way to the street with it open, but I told her I pulled it closed out front just in case. We have folks who are up and about then doing who knows what and I don't want to get unsigned notes in the mailbox. Fortunately, the child is 22, so there''s no danger of protective services coming over, but I know what you mean. People get irrational over some things. A guy yelled at me 9 years ago at a remote beach when I had a thong on implying I was gay and I was going to corrupt the children. I'm sure his being drunk had nothing to do with it (LOL).

However, we still have the resort and the wonderful people there. Even though we also have just the one car with high mileage, its gets us there and God has provided us with the resources to pay the yearly fees. Every time we go, we have our own little prayer and 10 minute church service up in the rustic outdoor chapel and pray over whatever concerns we have at the moment and whatever project we have. We get more out of that little bit of time than we ever have in any long, organized service in a building. If anyone here is ever in Southern California, you're welcome to join us there for a day of stress-melting.

Everyone, keep up the good posts. This is always one of the first site I go to every day and the people here always feel like friends.

Re: Good To Be Remembered (+Info)

April 24 2005, 8:20 AM

Terry,
I'm so glad we that kind of relationship and that we are like a family to you. That really encourages me.

I am concerned about the other issue of depression, hope you don't mind me making a recommendation here (assuming you need it).

You may want to visit Amens ADD Clinic and get tested for ADD/ADHD.

My issues has been concentrating (or a lack of it) and depression. I feel I have to "run off" somewhere to resolve the problem. Moving a lot, going from job to job, afraid of "success" because I may end up staying where I may no want to be (tough to explain), and other irrational and emotional thinking. a.k.a. "stinkin' thinkin'".

According to their tests (I took it in a book then a few weeks later, took it online, and came up with the same results) my add/hd from 1 to 6 possible types, is #2 with a close #5. Results: I take lowest dose of Concerta (prescription) everyday for concentration and depression and Amino Acid Complex with an occasional L-Tyrosine (1000mg) to boost help in depression as well.

This has worked great for me.

Even if you (anyone) already know of your condition, Amens has a wealth of informtion that can help you to the next level of understanding and overcoming add/hd.

If you have any questions (anyone reading this) feel free to contact me about it and I'll give you my experiences and encouragement.

Boyd

A bold streak

April 23 2005, 3:10 PM

Boyd, I think God gave some of us menfolk common sense and the rest of us he gave wives!! Missy is God's blessed guardian angel in your life.

I would love to "nudify" my backyard, but that would mean putting up high fences. I can't afford it, it would be like living in a box canyon, ending my view of nature beyond my yard.

The one thing I have is a wall of greenery and trees along the very back row of my back yard. That way I can walk around nude in my house with my south-facing curtains open. I cannot be nude anywhere in the yard without being in plain view of someone and there's always someone around in this neighborhood of retired folks.

These neighbors are good folks, but I know the culture of my people all too well and know very well that as nice as they are, they would cut me no slack if I were walking around nude in the yard, front or back.

One of these days, I will move further away from the big city where large lots are affordable and available. I could really go for a house set well back from the road and a place where vegetation screens my coming and going, at least in the back. I might even spring for a pool and jacuzzi someday.

A couple of years ago, I was the guest in the home of some nudists who had all that in a very big spacious private yard. And they invited all their nudist friends to come celebrate Independence Day with them. It was so nice to be clothesfree; it made me all the more resolved to have this one of these days.

I have to drive two hours to go to my favorite nudist resort. Others have it worse, I am sure, but one of these days I would also like to live closer to them or a place like it.

Sorry forgot to sign my name!

April 23 2005, 3:13 PM

I can't go back and add in my name, but it was me!
Boyd, how hard would it be for you to nudify part of your yard. I can tell you are really hankering for it and maybe you could help Missy rest easy and you'd get your place in the sun without worrying her.

Bush Hogging my neighbors

April 24 2005, 7:36 PM

To do that would practically alienate myself from the neigbors and it would change what the neighbors who own their homes would have along their property line. People forget that by adding fences, shrubbery, etc. also changes the view and line of their neighbors property.

Besides, I rent. Ain't puttin' that much in it! Hope to move long before the bushes get that high!

Backyard Freedom

April 23 2005, 7:10 PM

I guess there's no need in describing my place (you took care of that for me, in what you would like to have someday). I'm in the process of clearing the middle out of the woods. We are planning on building a new house up there in a year or two, then I will have nude freedom in the front and the back. The only time that I would have to get dressed is when I go down to the mailbox. Right now my trailer house is down by the road, but even so we are pretty well screened by vegatation on all sides but the front, no close neighbors gives me an added benifit. Even in my near ideal environment, the wife still worries about me being seen going out our backdoor and going into the woods which is close to the door. She says that she will fell better about it when we get the new house built because it will be totally hidden from view.

Thats the same with me

April 24 2005, 12:40 AM

My wife also has this fear that people will judge us as being deviants. She has been very open at her work, more open than I have, about going to a nude resort but is very uncomfortable about going nude at home.

Comfort zones

April 24 2005, 7:39 PM

At least my wife is comfortable being nude at home and talking about it when the subject comes up. She wasn't shy in college dorms.

But still not about going out unless the neighbors says it's OK.

Backyards and driving

April 25 2005, 10:10 PM

While we have a privacy fence, I too have been "taking chances". This morning I tilled the garden in the nude tends to draw attention in itself and there are large enough gaps and knot holes in my fence that one could look from across the street and see enough to tell that I was not dressed. I live in IL and have taken a job in MO so I drive about 5 hrs. each way home and back on weekends. I have driven the whole distance nude without being detected. I drive a GMC Safari minivan which puts me up where truckers and can see me yet they have not noticed.

Mine and other backyards

April 26 2005, 5:41 AM

Good luck to everyone trying to convert their backyards into nudist havens. I was able to do this in Baton Rouge. Had to fence it first though, down both sides with back open to a bauyou (sp? A creek in times of heavy rain).

Here, I take nude hikes across 8 or 9 neighbors' properties every day in a natural area along Ivy Creek. Of course, I'm nude on my own property up to that hump in our driveway. Past it, I throw on a monokini.

Neighbors all know about me. I respect the kids' (college 2nd year MBA students) parties next door and dress when they throw one. That was the case last Sunday. It was too windy and cold to go naked anyway. Had a date at the church that afternoon to help a guy in planting some azaleas.

Speaking of backyards...

April 26 2005, 6:42 AM

...a gentleman named John in Siler City, NC has a 15 Acre property he is trying to convert into a naturist resort (of sorts, more like "haven") and has been inviting naturists to come.

Charge is free, (unless you want to donate time, money, muscle or stuff) and he tries to have something each weekend.

It's rustic of course, but he has an above ground pool, a couple of cabins he built and restroom and outdoor shower.

If you are in the area and want to check it out, let me know and I'll give you the details.

We are going to be there this weekend coming up (weather pending).

Boyd

searching for backyards

April 26 2005, 7:27 PM

now that I'm not driving over-the-road, or in NC, I find out of a little retreat in the town of one of my pick-up points, if only I had known this just 3 or 4 years ago. Well, as they say, "that's life"

Kind of open...but...

April 27 2005, 2:50 PM

Thats OK, because it wasn't ready then. Actually, a non-landed club was using it and made the owner mad by charging people to come there when he asked them not to. they also tried to make other rules that he said he did not want.

Just as well you weren't there.

Now he got his control back a year ago and is excited about getting started again.
