Sorry about the crashes we had tonight. Network54 went down. A few of us decided to "conference" on Yahoo IM and that worked ok, but then my system crashed. I have a new pc and my network isn't running smoothly yet.

Anyway, back up again, we'll try again. I just hope that doesn't put anyone off!

Fried BACN ?

April 27 2005, 7:35 PM

That's a joke... get it?

Anyway, it sounds like it's a good thing I didn't try to get on last night.

I was fried, myself. Too tired to do anything but crash on the couch until time for bed.

I told Myra to go log on so she could run into the living room, tell me what someone said, then run back and type in my reply, then come back and tell me...

... that didn't go so well...

Maybe nest week.

Technology to the rescue

Sounds like you need a laptop and wireless (assuming you don't use dial up). Then you could cook and compute.

Techno-phobes

We do use dial-up, but have thought about stepping into the 20th century...

Kind of hard, as we live in a very rural area. Nobody has cable TV, everybody has a satellite dish.

And we've talked about a lap-top as well, but we need to get better at saving money, because we're too good at spending it at the moment...

put another log on the fire

April 28 2005, 8:55 AM

Poor Myra running after ol' Kevin. My wife reconds that I am the worlds worst person when I am tired, sick or weary. I just want some comfort at those times. The trouble is I sound like the man in the song "Put another log on the fire then come and tel me why you are leaving me!"
Was not able to get on yesterday as I was about to go to work.
I am setting up my Vegatable Garden so that I will be able to work out in it nude. I am looking forward to that time.

Too tard and feddered.

April 28 2005, 6:14 AM

I remembered but was too tired to sit NIFOC.

Did all my trails for the first time with the JD, hoed about 10 rows, spread some lime on the volleyball court (to combat the ground ivy, pretty with its blue flowers though) and trimmed along orchard/vineyard and around garden with electric mower. Did all this within the 3 hours after taking my naked hike. Did many more trails offshoots and all, too, than I ever did with the Gravely. Woulda been totally bushed just doing the trails with the Gravely.

Garden time

April 29 2005, 11:48 PM

I'm actually a bit late getting my vegetable garden in. I probably should have worked the soil a couple of weeks ago. No frost, but we did get down to the mid-thirties (Fahrenheit) one day last week. I guess I could have put the tomatoes out and covered them at night, but the real hot weather vegetables had to wait until the ground is warm.

Today I spent an hour with a swing blade converting my weedy winter garden into a summer garden plot.

It was a fine morning in the low seventies and I stripped down to shoes and shorts. I am in plain view of the neighbors, so that's as bare as I dare. The sun and gentle breeze felt good on the 80% of my body that went natural.

I am almost always barefoot, but when I use the shovel and a swing blade, I wear shoes.

I have all my soil ammendments lying beside the veggie plot. The neighbor's tiller is on loan to me and I look forward to planting tomatoes, okra, squash, beans, cucumbers and a few other odds and ends as soon as the ground is dry enough.

I love doing things the natural way and digging a garden and being nude seem to go hand-in-hand. Maybe one day, I'll have a private garden spot to better emulate Adam before the fall, but it was still great to enjoy a degree of freedom.
