Hey everyone,

For a while now Myra and I have been meeting weekly with one of her co-workers and her husband for a Bible study. It has been going very well, and last night was a true blessing.

We never really concentrate on one particular topic, but as we discuss things we let the conversation (God, really) lead us where it (He!!) will. Like Myra and I this couple is a younger man married to a married-before older woman with kids. They have had problems with their children, and they can understand Myra and my frustration at the situation with our own problem "kids".

This couple is fairly concervative about their reading of Scripture, just like us, and we see pretty much eye-to-eye. The subject of nudity has yet to come up, but I believe it will eventually. We really don't know what to expect as a response, so we'll need all the prayer we can get on that.

I guess that's all I really have to say...

I guess I just wanted to thank God for the blessing He's given Myra and I with this study, and to let you guys know what was going on. So... there ya go.

I know what you mean Kevin by blessings in a bible study. My wife has started one on Wednesday nights at the local Starbucks with whoever she can rustle together each week. Her first blessing is that she can walk down there since we live in an area that's like old small towns where the downtown is close. The second is that one particular woman who works at the same church I do (and where my wife used to) always gives her a renewal of spirit whether its as a part of the bible study or in their personal discussions afterward. It seems they are led to the right things to talk about. Hoping for an increase in attendance, but who knows where it will lead.

That is great news Kevin! Myra had been needing someone to talk to and be around. You two need it, as do the other couple.

Gwin and I went out last night (saw Star Wars) and went to a nice restaurant by ourselves...rare event...and we discussed our situation in life.

We used to have people over all the time, but it seems they are too busy anymore. I can understand that, but also understand that we are busy too. Many say "We are tired", forgetting that Gwin and I have a two year old girl (hit terrible twos ON her birthday) and I understand tired. But we still have to open the doors, set up, she runs the sound, (she got a good helper now) and had been on the council for the last five years. She is out now, got new council members which relieves us of some duties. But we picked up others.

But back to last night, we discussed our relationship with God and each other. I started focusing on our relationship the last couple of weeks, and asked God to allow us (husband and wife) to listen to the spirit and hear the same thing!! Often in the past, I had been wondering why I pray about something, get one answer, and Gwin prays about the same thing, and get another answer that seems opposite. What is God saying? "You are both right, but I am more right than you!" But that doesn't help our current situation if we don't hear what "right" answer we do need to listen to. So my focus lately is "Lord, help us both to listen to the spirit together and hear the same thing so we can both be on the same target, same goal, same vision." It seems we have been at cross purposes with each other and both eagerly shooting at different stars. It's like we are working for competing companies.

Having a study group is great, we hosted one for about three or four years a while back. But now we are not going to any. In fact, I don't think anyone in our congregation is hosting one right now. We are going to a Wednesday night group at church, which is working well. But we again, need to know where we are going, where the spirit is leading us, what are we called to do.

Anyway, I am ABSOLUTELY LOOKING FORWARD to CNC! Boy, do we need it now!!!
