I replied to your email about the baptism, but it bounced back as "undeliverable". That is related to the email address or a bug in the system.
So I'll answer here:
I don't remember who it was that was baptised! Mark might remember. He seems to have a good memory for names.
But I think it was a "rebaptism" rather than an initial baptism. He wanted it done "right". If it were a first baptism, then the act of recieving the holy spirit would have been the next step, which was not taken since he already has recieved it....which meant his first baptism was valid, which means he really didn't need this one!
Would that mean that if a person was ressurrected to life again and found out they were buried with clothes on that they need to be reburied naked to be "buried right"? I don't think so!
Tony attended the baptism, perhaps in a pastoral role. I don't know if it was a private event. I wasn't there. I think it was conducted in the hot tub. But generally baptisms are supposed to be public events, so I am sure that we can find someone who witnessed it and just a guess, but I don't think the recipient of the baptism won't mind telling you who it was.
I was, what some people would call "rebaptised" when in my 20's. I went through a study with my pastor & others before doing so but we called it reaffirmation of baptism. I was rededicating my life to the Lord through the waters of rebirth in a reaffirmation of what my parents did when I was a babe in arms. This in no way diminished what my parents had done, it was just my way of re-entering into that place for myself but publicly.
I better stop before I get to wordy. Can you see where I'm coming from?
