Hey folks, we got a new mission statement for our music, worship and praise team. You may want to check it out.

We also have a sign up form for it as well so if anyone is interested in joining up, go to our Music Forum and check it out!

We are also expanding into plays using my wifes "The Dramatic Christian" Theatre Team.

Hey!!!!!! You failed to capitalize "God" in your mission statement! Just thought I'd point that out. I am one to see errors of spelling, grammar, and such and thereforth. Maybe, GOnude (Greg).

That was the second one. I got the first one, didn't see the second one.

Good catch,

I noticed the first one after I looked a second time to see if there were any other places you mentioned God, at least you capitalized there. Nobody ever brings up the times that you DO capitalize, now do they? Maybe.

"g" Whiz

July 16 2005, 7:55 AM

Actually, I wasn't the one who wrote it. I wrote the first part in the heading, then Nancy wrote the second major part. The reason she left the caps out is because she wanted to cap the words that spelled out "WORSHIP" so it will stand out over the other letters. So I edited the copy to make the letters bold and italic WORSHIP, so it could stand out over the other caps.

And I overlooked the "g".

When I sent it to Boyd, all the words that were to have "caps" didn't because of the fact I did
want WORSHIP to stand out. It's my fault. He already has to put up with me and my endless
stream of ideas.

Lesson learned?

July 16 2005, 2:23 PM

Well, I hope you learned your lesson. If you are going to post things that I can see, be very aware! I am one to look out for typos. I have seen several occasions on this and other boards, when people misspell (on purpose?) or use improper punctuation or capitalization, but I keep my mouth (fingers?) shut. I'm not saying that I'm perfect. I've just been given the talent of writing and most of its attributes. Ask my co-workers, I am always correcting their grammar, or even taking them literally when they misspeak. Mayce, oops! I mean Maybe, GOnude.

Last Word

July 16 2005, 2:57 PM

Let me explain this better and hopefully it will be the last word on this.
When I sent Boyd my idea for the mission statement, I didn't have
access to using various fonts and styles. So that it would be easier to
read what I was trying to get at, I only capitalized the words that
spelled, "worship." Boyd and I knew what I was trying to get at and he
placed the letters in bold.

I too spend a great deal of time writing since I'm working on my doctorate.
But there are times that some things do slip by. And I do take the blame
for writing the words in lower case letters in the first place. I apologize if
it offended anyone. But I might add that the music forum has gone under
a lot of transformation this week, and there has been a lot of discussion
about activities for a music and worship team. Speaking for Boyd, as well
as myself, I think we both have had a long week.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

July 16 2005, 3:36 PM

As I said in my previous post, I am not perfect. In one of my poems that I typed up, which I do almost immediately after finishing them, I misspelled love, I had an "i" where the "o" should have been. My pastor pointed that out to me, and I did not like the fact that I had a typo on my finished draft. I am very glad he pointed that out to me. Notice that I'm not making any excuses? The way I type, I can usually see right away when I make a mistake, so I can backspace and make the correction. I am a chicken peck typer, using just one or both of my index fingers, and I look at the keyboard as I type. Doing it the professional way, my typing would look like this: bhdcfhdvdbndfejdv dkwdvdj jvd dfgfbf dmdvf ere 53, and so on and so forth. Anyway, can't you tell I'm just ribbing you? I do not mean to make this a case for the United States Supreme Court! Maybe, GONude.

Four good reasons

July 16 2005, 8:10 PM

I suppose we all make mistakes, but in her case, it was not a mistake or a typo, it was deliberate.

For three reasons,
One, as she explained above, and
Two, to aggravate you and me with typos!

Seeking perfection

July 17 2005, 8:10 PM

I can understand the desire to have everything written and spoken correctly- I'm another one of those people who are very specific in how I write and speak. But, my tendency to correct people during everyday conversations rubbed so many people wrong that I have pretty much given up on the practice.

While I like things to be very specific, it's not something that should be so important to overshadow the relationships I have. Many people took what I meant as a simple correction as criticism, and took great offense when I intended none. I now find it easier to let simple errors go; as lond as the basic principles are sound, there's no need to be constantly criticising people. Even if that's not how I intend it, that's how they take it.

I myself am also an aspiring writer, and have even had a few small things put into print. Those things I take great care to have exactly as I want them to appear. In other venues, such as here, that isn't such an important consideration. I still try to be exacting, but that's just me. As long as I can follow the intended meaning in another's post I don't see any need in correcting typing, punctuation, or any other type of error. There are better things to talk about. If I can't understand someone's meaning I will ask for clarification, but without commenting on their writing. Not everybody is as concise as I, and as fast as some of the replies fly around here, there's bound to be errors.

Just my thoughts....

God Bless
Kevin

Re: Seeking perfection

July 17 2005, 9:14 PM

I fully agree. Anyway, all I meant to do was point out the failure to capitalize "God" on one instance, but then it steamrolled into this perfection thingymajiggy type of deal. When I point out discrepencies, I always do it in a joking manner, with some seriosness in it. Of course, here in type, it is not so easy to convey the joking side of things, otherwise, I'm sure not as big of a deal would have been made about it. By the way, you misspelled 'long' in your post, a 'd' instead of the 'g'! Maybe, GOnude.

Maybe?

July 18 2005, 6:02 PM

For the third time, twice on SunnyDay's board, I will explain. I am known by my friends and co-workers for saying "Maybe" about a billion times a day. I say it as response to "see you later" and other pleasantries. I even say it as a greeting. I would like to say a pleasantry, but I am very shy about that kind of thing. Maybe, Greg or GOnude.
