CNC Details- Any New Ones

July 19 2005 at 9:00 PM

I know some people on this site are on the planning team for next years's CNC. Is there any news on it? Like where it's going to be held or which dates it'll be. As I'm totally on fire for God right about now (DEVOURING the Bible and spending more time in prayer than anything else), I really, really am ready for the next CNC. I just hope it's close enough to home that I can go.

Melissa

ps- In case my preference makes a difference, I vote for either White Tail Park or Avalon as a location.

Re: CNC Details

July 19 2005, 9:23 PM

Our fearless leader, Allen, just emailed all of us today to ask us to curtail giving out information because it is still too early with too many unknowns. He asked us to refer folks to our web site for "official" information ( see http://www.christiannudistconvocation.com/ ).

All I (any of us working for CNC) can say is, CNC is still working out the details.

won't let the cat out of the bag

July 19 2005, 11:32 PM

I won't let the cat out of the bag, but I can tell you that the cat is alive and meowing! In other words, stay tuned for some exciting announcements in the future.

I am not one of the trustees, but I am a volunteer who helps the trustees and I can tell you that they are working hard behind the scenes. CNC and the CNC trustees need your prayers. Several of them have very full schedules and they are seeking the Lord's will about locations, teaching, music, contacting people who might be interested, etc.

Did I say locations? I did, didn't I?

If the Lord wills, there is a distinct possibility of meetings in several places. We have had it on our hearts to hold CNC gatherings where many people who previously lived too far to attend, might be able to go next year.

So don't assume that you don't need to read our upcoming announcements carefully because you don't live near Virginia. We may not be within an easy drive of your home next year, but then again...?

Keep praying!

Not Fair!

July 20 2005, 5:02 AM

That's not fair! The web site is down, so I can't get any details. Surely you can tell us something. Or at least tell us when you/ the web site WILL be able to tell us something?

Everything is on the table

July 20 2005, 9:38 AM

Melissa,

Our main page was hacked, so Allen our Webmaster put up the page you see now.

All of last year's information won't help for 2006. There will be a CNC, maybe more than one next year, but literally every detail about what, when, and where is before the Lord in prayer.

Boyd is one of the trustees, so you are visiting the next best thing for CNC friends until we get our Web site back up.

Allen is very busy and he is not making all the decisions; the trustees are all in on this. The Web page cannot be updated until all the trustees hear from the Lord about a lot of things. It might be a few weeks before we learn anything specific.

Keep praying!

Trustees

July 21 2005, 8:53 AM

Kevin and Myra are also trustees.

We were asked to not discuss the information outside the CNC forum.

The only thing I was asked at this time was about the music. See the music forum for that information.

I can understand the importance of not discussing the CNC issues. They are making negotiations at several resorts and it is difficult to do this if everyone knows what is going on. We don't want people to start hounding the potential hosts when the negotiations are hardly under way. That "hounding" can be made in several ways, loving support, "are we there yet" nagging, criticism, hate letters, threats, bribes, you name it, people can and will do it. It can be frustrating to our potential host, not to mention, make them wonder if we are really who we say we are.

We are not saying you are doing this, but this is a public board, other people read it, and the negotiations should be kept private until the host is ready to let the public know.

Also private issues such as problems or how to handle the problems that come up with group activities such as this need to be kept private. It's a safety and security issue.

Thanks for your understanding, and we will let you know as soon as possible! In fact, us trustees are waiting too!

Boyd "No we are not there yet, so enjoy the ride" Allen

What people should know

July 21 2005, 9:11 AM

People should know that dispite the fact that the CNC Web site is down, that there will be a Christian Nudist Convocation in 2006 in one or more locations. The site will be back up and it is the only official source of information about CNC. The site will be up when the trustees are ready to release information about future plans. I would like to see at least a basic statement of what CNC is put back up on the site, but the Webmaster has a lot on his plate and we must be patient.

Even though CNC Trustees are not ready to give details, that doesn't mean that they are not working hard behind the scenes. I can assure you that they are. In fact, there are more people doing more work right now than ever before.

And CNC does need your prayers right now.

Thank you

July 21 2005, 12:00 PM

And yes, your prayers are needed.

In one of the letters (am I leaking information?) Allen asked for prayers and he also reminded everyone that he has to make a living too.

These people are volunteering their time, especially Allen, and they have personal lives to live as well.

The same here on these forums. We tend to stretch our limitations and create more forums, but the forum owners like me are not rich. We are getting free services on the network54, but the "price" is pop-ups and top page ads which I have limited control.

The only other recourse is to put out money we don't have for it.

So lets all work together, pray about it, pray for our success financially, (as well as all who visit this board) so we can move forward with the plans.

It would be a shame if Allen did get the program going, CNC plans all laid out and nobody shows up because we are are broke!

The gas prices are way beyond most of our reach, and its going to put a damper on the trips many people will be making.

Re: On fire

July 19 2005, 9:29 PM

P.S. I am so glad to hear you are "on fire" for the Lord. I remember going through similar experiences, so I know the Lord will surely bless you. Just try to keep the fire burning (that is sometimes the hardest part -- when life starts getting busy or problems start to crowd in).

Praise the Lord! This is answered prayer!

Great To See You "On Fire"

July 20 2005, 3:07 PM

Melissa,

Its great to see you back with us and "on fire." I get worried about you and others when I see posts that indicate depression and hopelessness. I guess I get sensitive to the subject because of my own problems and regrets in life and because a person I worked with shot and killed himself at work a few days before Christmas this past year. His bi-polar illness had plagued him for decades and while he's finally at peace, its placed a hard burden on his family. The good news is that many of us have learned to recognize the symptoms of problems in their early stages and can, like my wife with a young woman at work, begin to intervine and help them.

You're a beautiful, young woman inside and out and I'm always sorry you don't live out here in Cal-a-for-nee. I know you'd make a great friend at our resort and anywhere. Besides, my wife has a bible study at Starbuck's every Wednesday night and she'd love for you to join.

On fire

July 21 2005, 9:00 AM

Wow, I am glad to see you up and excited about it! I know we all are! I just wish we can have it twice a year! And who knows, it may happen soon!

But as you may have already read, we cannot discuss it here on this board.

But, I can tell you since Kevin and I are trustees, (Melissa was a strong supporter of that vote) we will be one of the first to find out. First being, who opens the email first.

Gwin is excited about her play being revitalised, our music team has been given a mission by CNC (see music board for details) and we are busy busy busy!

On fire for the Lord and his will be done!

Boyd
