I had two meetings today.
One was a lunch meeting with the music director at church. We're talking about doing some collaborating on new music, including writing a piece for harp ensemble and bell choir. Well, actually, I'll be arranging that for Christmas. All in all we had a very productive meeting and a good lunch. Oh, and he also is thinking about the possibility (if another person doesn't work out) of hiring me to help him out a couple of days a week. But it looks like we're going to see a lot of each other anyway.
The other was with the fine arts coordinator of one of the school districts. He's an old friend of mine; he's old, and we're friends.

Anyway, we talked about private lessons in the school district. He wants me to charge more than I was thinking about charging, so I'll be getting $30.00/hour. Most students take half hour lessons, but he figures since I still know a lot of the directors in the district, I can have as many students as I want. I'll probably cap it at some point. I do have to take care of myself and consider trips back and forth to Dallas.
It looks like I'm back in the "music business" around here, though.
I still have a meeting in the morning with the department chair at the school that has hired me to teach humanities in the morning and a meeting early Thursday morning with another friend about lessons/sectionals in his school district.
I have to keep remembering not to overload my schedule. It's when I get overly tired that the headaches from these lesions really kicks in.
But I am doing two things I truely am passionate about -- teaching college and teaching lessons.
And writing music.
You know the resort I went to has an internet connection that I could use and wireless capabilities. Perhaps I should go out there to relax and work.
