They'll be going higher. Chinese demand is going up and up to increase crude oil prices. We're sending them lots of money to buy it with the goods we're buying (often involuntarily). Just bought a new Dell. Some parts were labeled "made in China".

Let's hope and pray that hurricane Katrina doesn't damage any of the 7 oil refineries that lie in her path (as of 9pm Sunday night). Those refineries are working at full capacity now just to maintain prices where they are now, if any or all of them go down,,,look out for some really high prices! Having been through several hurricanes down on the gulf coast in the past, I know what they can do.

Yes, I understand they are responsible for 25% of the nations output. Prices can be $3 a gal by the end of Sept if any of them goes down!

The storage tanks may be getting flooded too. It's possible to salvage the oil out of it by water and oil separation, but that is an expensive and time consuming process too.

Mopeds, here we come.

Maybe I'll get into pinstriping Mopeds. Make them look like Harleys. Skull, flames, anything to get them to "look tough"

Yeah, gas hit 3 dollars a gallon here today.

They say it might be 4 per gallon by the weekend, and Myra and I are going down to Carolina Saturday to visit her daughter.

Maybe we'll take the bikes. Our car gets about 32 mpg on the highway, but the bikes'll get over 50. Six hours would be a little hard on the butt, though. Oh, well, maybe one day...
