I USUALLY don't remember my dreams and hardly ever will remember more than 2 a year.
Now I've had this dream three nights in a row, the same thing everytime. A little back ground here that I'm sure is relevant, leading up to the dream(s).My wife and I have been married for 10 years, and in all that time we've only had one argument, which so far has lasted 10 years. It has to do with housekeeping (or the lack thereof) Prior to being married we hammered out (or thought we did) some important issues. Among these are housekeeping, children, and healthy lifestyles (nutritional/fitness) all of which has not met the term of conditions set forth before marriage. I have been trying to deal with her on these issues ever since, only to my dismay things never get any better. I had lost hope in our marraige, had completely lost faith that things would ever improve to even come close to acceptable tolerances. But the "D" word is/was never a concideration.
Now on to the present, this past sunday the pastor delivered a message stating, "show me your faith". saying that God want's us to come before him in beleief, and not neccassarily because of our need. He was clearly speaking to me in relation to our marraige, and how I've been praying for it in the past few years. So come time for the alter service, I went up to pray over our situation, believing, in faith that God would send an answer to bring closure to my hurts in our marraige. Expecting to get an answer that only God could give.
Then on monday, tuesday and wednesday nights I had the following dream(s). Keeping in mind that me being able to remember a dream when I wake is in itself a rarity, but the same dream 3 nights in a row? Ok on to the dream.............(I will narate in needed places to give more information that may or may not be relevant.)
It starts as I enter our house, (not yet built but is in the planning stages as I type) the first thing I notice is a clean house. Ok, so a few things are out of order but the house is clean nonetheless. (not seen in current situation, [deals with housekeeping]) I hear my wife say "be carefull, we just mopped the floor". I look up and toward the kitchen and see my wife emptying the dishwasher (in this dream she is about the size she was when we first met, about 60lbs lighter than she is as I type, [deals with healthy lifestyle]) and I see to her left, another woman at the sink doing something, kinda tall, long dark hair, very tan, just a couple extra pounds but otherwise "well built". (in this dream I never see this womans face) (both women are nude) This woman then say's "babe could you check on our son, I heard him making a little noise a few moments ago". [deals with children, my belief is and has always been that God controls fertility, we should not play God with it, my wife had her tubes tied 5 years ago after the birth of our third child] So I head to the bedroom and see a a king sized bed in the middle of the room, crib just barly off to the left side, I walk over to the crib and look down to see a baby, eyes wide open and smiling. He looks to be about 9 months old, he also appears to be either tan or dark complected. I reach down and pick him up and play with him some before I take his diaper off and clean him up. While this is going on I hear the ladies in the other room talking and cutting up as if they was best freinds. Then I pick up my naked son and take him back into the other room and set his naked body down on the vynil floor and look up and notice that the other woman is now away from the sink and kneeled down at the far end of the counter doing something else now. I walk over to my wife and kiss her [deals with intimacy between us that has suffered severely in the last ten years].....the dream ends in mid kiss...
I'm sure that God sent me this dream because of the fact that not only can I actually remember it, but was repeated twice, and those times are remembered as well.
now my questions are, why 3 nights in a row? why always exactly the same? who is this woman? why do I have a son by her? how come I never see her face? why does it appear that she may live in the house with us? why is the crib on the side of the bed that I sleep on instaed of my wifes side? who is this woman? why is she there? Is the meaning obvious or underlying, like Peters dream about the unclean animals?
any thoughts? I'm open to suggestions.
I breifly wondered if that was even my wife's and my bedroom I entered to get the boy, (maybe it could be her's alone?) but decided that it had to be mine and Lea's room, due to the fact that the house plans only call for 3 bedrooms, 2 of which would be going to the kids.
"why 3 nights in a row? why always exactly the same?" Repetition means emphasis. The Lord is, or you are, saying, "This is important." Repetition promotes learning, too. Remember learning the multiplication table, or how your kids ask you read the same stories over and over? Still more, 3 is a number of completion, and based what you shared, it is as if the dream says, "When things are like this, my life will be complete."
"who is this woman? how come I never see her face? why does it appear that she may live in the house with us?" My guess is, she represent the Holy Spirit working along side your wife, helping her accomplish your dream. John Paul Jackson teaches dream interpretation, and he explains that a faceless person (or one where you cannot see the person's face) is typically the Lord or an angel because the Holy Spirit never reveals Himself, but He reveals the Son.
Additionally, the reason He may have chosen to be by her side, even as a woman, may be that He either sides with her (or you feel He has), or He is showing you the only way to success -- that she works with the Lord, and you let her.
"why do I have a son by her?" If the woman represents the Holy Spirit, then the child would represent what you and her (rather, He) birthed together -- new life into the situation.
"why is the crib on the side of the bed that I sleep on instead of my wife's side?" The Lord says, this new life, the life you and I created together, is your responsibility. In other words, you are "the head," the leader, so lead. That is, serve and set the example.
"...the dream ends in mid kiss..." This is significant, too. The Lord may be reiterating what He says in His word, "Husband, love your wife." You mentioned intimacy problems, so it may just reflect what you want, in the end -- to have an intimate love life together.
"Is the meaning obvious or underlying, like Peters dream about the unclean animals?" The above is my take. Ultimately, you need to seek the Lord for answers, and if you do so genuinely, He will show you.
If you'd be interested, I have notes from notes from John Paul Jackson's tapes on Dream Interpretation. Just let me know and I will email them to you. BTW -- Sorry we have not chatted on Yahoo in a while (I'm greg_pc if you forgot).
Well, it's not like we both have the same schedules. When I get on it's very rare that you show up, and when you do I'm usually too busy to chat anyway. Maybe sometime in the near future we'll make it happen.
By the way, thanks for your take. I'll concider it, but as you said, I need to seek the Lord on it. I do want to get to the meaning of it and the interpertation from the Lord, however He does use people to interprete many times. Thats why I posted it here.
"When I get on it's very rare that you show up, and when you do I'm usually too busy to chat anyway." Yes, I agree. I just wanted to let you know who had responded and apologize that we have not been able to chat much. Last time we chatted, I said I would chat with you again soon, and now it has been a long time. I guess we are both "too busy to chat" most of the time -- which is why I don't "show up" much.
"The Lord does use people to interprete many times. Thats why I posted it here." Yes, He does -- more often than not. I am really glad you posted your dream here because I love this kind of stuff. I love hearing how the Lord speaks to us and works in our lives.
I'm not a dream interpreter, though I do a lot of dreaming, day dreaming that is!
I think that was a beautiful interpretation, (whether correct or not) and maybe that is what it is. I had a dream once where I was across the road from my house and was walking back towards it, but I was nude and my neighbors were out and apparently had no problem with my nudity. I was relaxed, not worried about it.
But that was a while back and that is all I remember. It was a one time dream.
But I'm sure many of us naturists had similar dreams.
What I find interesting was that in the above dream, (not mine) was that he was in his new house, so I find that relelevant as well. What is the Lord telling him about that?
"I'm not a dream interpreter..." I am not really a dream interpreter either, but the Lord has used me that way a few times. I do enjoy studying the subject and trying to understand what the Lord is saying to me through my dreams (when such is the case).
You may find this interesting, too... Before every major event in the Bible (or most), the Lord spoke to someone in or through a dream about it. Check it out some time. Since "the Lord is the same yesterday, today, and forever," He continues to speak to us this way. In fact, Acts 2:17 says, "In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see VISIONS, your old men will DREAM DREAMS."
"I think that was a beautiful interpretation, (whether correct or not)..." Thanks! I cannot say whether it is correct or not though. That is why I suggested he ask the Lord about it.
"...he was in his new house, so I find that relelevant as well. What is the Lord telling him about that?" Yes, usually every aspect of a prophetic dream has signifigance of some kind. In order to know the meaning of a thing, just think about how you normally use it. In this case, your house is where your live, so he would live in this new place, this ideal. The scriptural reference is, "Behold, I will create a new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind" (Isaiah 65:17).
