Two fridays ago, just as I was about to leave for work the phone rang and it was a relative of Priscilla's. She was at work so I was told that my father in law had just died in the USA. I then had to try and get hold of my wife to tell her. She has a mobile phone but continually turns it off. Eventually got through and she was able to ring her sister in LA and get the whole story. He and his grandson got food poisoning from eating fish that had been cooked days previously, and the grandson was still in icu (he still is in hospital.
What has followed has been a flood of international phone calls to arrange viusas and fares for relatives in Fiji and Tonga to get to LA as well as arranging with the travel agency here for Priscilla's fare along with acousin and her baby that are in Brisbane and are going with her.
Then on Sunday my father rings while I'm at work to say that my uncle had died. I would love to go to Gawler for the funeral but can't get away.
Then Yesterday I was running around ensuring that Priscilla got away with all her paperwork and packed etc and finally got her away just after 430 yesterday afternoon.
then I had to go and do my farm work and deliver eggs. I got o work at 9:00 pm. got home at 7:30 this morning fed the livestock then went o bed 26 hours after I had last been in there. I slept 8 hours to day feel good now, cooking tea befor going back to work.
I have lost 4 inches from my waist since the end of May. When you look at me now I must have been VERRY rotund then!

Just wondering where Gawler is.

Gawler

November 23 2005, 4:52 AM

Gawler is 40 kms north of Adelaide in South Australia, just on the edge of the Australian premier wine producing area Barrossa valley. It now is vertually part of the adelaide Metropolitan area. This is 6 hours and 2 flights away from where we live in North Queensland.
