Difficult Week

I have had a rather tough week. Monday morning I got dressed to go teach
and my head had different plans. It's one of the worst headaches I have had
in the past few weeks from the pituitary and lesions. I was finally able to leave
in the afternoon and teach thanks to Darvocet and several caffeine products.

Lately I've noticed some pretty painful and uncomfortable areas on the upper
palate of my mouth. By Wednesday I had had enough and went to the dentist.
They ended up deadening my mouth and using a laser to remove five lesions
ion the upper palate and back of my mouth. Needless to say, I'm not a happy
camper. I'm still hurting, especially when I swallow and eat. Milkshakes and
ice cream are my friends.

I have been teaching the past few days though, mostly because I feel I need to.
I see the dentist again next Wednesday for a post-op visit. Whether these lesions
are associated with my head -- we don't know yet.

I apologize for not posting more around here. Between the "normal" comings
and goings, and the additional stresses, it's hard to do that.

I hope all of you are doing well and had a blessed Thanksgiving.

PEACE!
Nancy

You just keep up the 'Job spirit', like it seems you have been! I mean Job of the Bible, not job as in work. I wrote a poem with that title. It is about striving on and refusing to curse God despite hardships. Maybe, Greg.

You have lesions, you're in pain, you have "one of the worst headaches I have had
in the past few weeks from the pituitary and lesions," and you're apologizing to us? Dear, just get better and we'll all pray for you and relief. Get better because some day we all want to spend nude time with each other across the country.

Pulling for you

December 3 2005, 7:03 AM

You are in our prayers. I had no idea you were going through such a hard time. I tried to call you but apparently, you were hurting too bad.

Hang in there, we are pulling for you.

Hi Nancy,

Thank you for taking a moment to let us know how you are doing. I myself had wondered what had happened to you, and I thought about emailing you to see if you were ok. Of course, I didn't because I figured you might just be busy. It seems we are all quite busy these days. Anyway, don't feel obligated to post, but focusing on taking care of yourself and any other prioritues. As the others have said, we'll be praying for you.

Thanks for the prayers

December 4 2005, 12:37 AM

...they are much appreciated. (And Boyd, I did get your messages...give me a couple more days to feel like talking.)

My mouth is feeling a little better today, although it still hurts to swallow, so eating is still difficult. It's a wonderful diet plan...NOT!
I seem to come up with this diet plans that won't sell. If I'd just come up with one that doesn't require getting sick, have dental surgery, etc...

I got out a little while with my mother and drove down (she did the driving) to the small town south of here where she's from today. Her parents and one of my uncles is buried at the small cemetery there and she always puts poinsettias on the gravesites at Christmas. I always end up getting a family history lesson when I make a trip like that, and so I did enjoy listening to her tell me more about the town, homes, people and area. I guess I'll end up as family historian one day.

The amazing thing is that is the first thing I've done, besides Thanksgiving and their anniversary, in weeks that didn't require me to pack my horn and teach, or run to a rehearsal. Christmas Day can't come soon enough. It will be the first day I'll have off this month that is free from teaching and playing.

I'll try to keep you all updated, and perhaps send Boyd an email to let you all know what's happening in the coming days. When I go back on Wednesday I'm guessing we'll have to do the same procedure again. He said we might because they could come back again that quickly, and they are. In the meantime, I'm resting in between teaching, preparing for next semester and rehearsals.

Thanks again for the prayers and support.

Blessings!
Nancy

Prayer in Church

December 4 2005, 5:30 AM

Hang in there Nancy. I'll ask the pastor to pray for you today (as we are already). (Sunday) He always ask if anyone has anything to pray about and he prays for them publicly while he is up there for all to hear and pray with him.

Family History Lesson

December 4 2005, 9:36 PM

Nancy, it has been 3 1/2 years since my father died. I was fortunate to be unemployed during the last six months of his life. In that time I moved him three times--house to retirement center to skilled medical, etc -- and each time provided opportunities to go through things and hear many stories. My only regret is that I did not take time to write down all those wonderful stories. I trust that your time with your mother was a blessing in the midst of an otherwise difficult time.

My prayers continue with you for the healing of the lesions -- all of them.

Hopeful
