Hey there...!

Hey everybody...I'm still alive, even after this semester's classes. Sorry that I haven't really been as involved as other members of this board have been. College is a big demand on your time, as is work. So I just wanted to give you guys a few updates to my life, not that they really apply to nudism, but eh, for those of you that know who I am, here it goes:

This semester I took part in the first Self-defense class offered at my school. It was awesome, I've lost 35 pounds and gained a good bit of muscle while doing it. Classes ended about two weeks ago and I hadn't done anything (exercise-wise) since then, so when I began taking the cardio-kickboxing class over the break, my muscles began screaming at me. I'm currently [this] close to needing to use the handicap rales in the bathroom due to my thighs...but hey, I will have some awesome quads when next semester rolls around.

In November, I got my first tattoo. I don't know how any of you feel about tattoos, but I like them (although I think that you really need to have a good concrete reason to get whatever you want to get...). The tattoo that I got is a celtic chi rho design that was originally the design of a necklace pendant and was slightly modified. I love it, I got it done in all black, on my back between my shoulderblades.

I did good in classes this semester, although I could've done even better. That is an amazing accomplishment with the amount of stress and workload that I've been under. Only by the grace of God did I make it through. OK, well, I just wanted to give you guys a quick update into my life at the moment...if it matters to any of you. This is my one post for the next few months (but hopefully less). Email me if you have any questions or anything, rzonmrcury@hotmail.com!

A new Laura

December 16 2005, 6:00 AM

Hi Laura!
Great to have you back...and with some artwork on that back even!

It has been quite busy here, but has slowed down some these past two weeks, but that is usual for this time of year. Seems the first two weeks of each season sends us all scattering. And the holidays, especially the big ones, gets us scattered and smothered.

hopefully you can tell us what else you are going to school for besides X-treme X-ersize! I know it has built your confidence up and mental encouragement. We are looking forward to hearing more from you and seeing a new you!

Wow! Lost 35 pounds and built up muscle? You must be looking fantastic and ready for spring and some nekkid time coming up. I don't take care of myself as much as I should and treating my body as a temple like the bible tells us, but I did stop smoking 20 years ago, I still bike ride off and on and try to walk alot in my job.

I have occasionally thought about tatoos, but never wanted to spend the $$$. I wasn't too sure if I wanted to deal with the pain, either. Its probably not very bad and I have a high tolerance, but I guess I just never got around to it or really knew what picture I wanted. As far as how any of us feel about them...well, its just none of our business. We may have an opinion, but its not our place to impose that opinion on others. Now, if organized religion could take a hint and have that same philosophy, we'd have a better world.

Keep us updated on school, your naturism walk and if you decide to go for any more tatoos. I've always thought one or two smaller ones looked nice, but some people go way over the top and their body starts to look like a canvas (LOL).

Opinions

Hi Terry,

You said, "As far as how any of us feel about them...well, its just none of our business. We may have an opinion, but its not our place to impose that opinion on others. Now, if organized religion could take a hint and have that same philosophy, we'd have a better world."

Thanks! That is right on! I think that is a great attitude. Like you, I wish others would not try to force their opinion on us.

Yes, and when I think of forcing opinions on others, I usually think specifically of nudists. Nudity is a real hot button with many people. Most folks don't seem to care if there's a nudist beach or resort around, just as long as no one is bothering them. However, at the other end of the spectrum are the fanatics who go to great lengths to seek out hidden places and fenced property so they can protest against them. You can't see anything if you are going about your business in the normal course of your day, but people look for things to complain about. I'm thinking right now about Mazo beach in Wisconsin. A right wing (so called) Christian minister and folllowers tried to block the road leading to the beach and would shout slanderous names at the beach goers. Is that how we want Christians to be remembered? I can never figure out why people feel its their duty to right (in their opinion) all the wrongs of the world. And why is my opinion not just as valid as theirs? A belief is just that. Not a fact. Saying, "Because I just know," isn't proof. I have my beliefs and someone else has theirs. I don't anyone can prove who's right and who's wrong and I don't care. Just allow me to live my life as I see fit as long as I'm not hurting anyone.

Hi Laura,

Thanks for your post. One of the things I like about this board is that we can be more realistic. I mean, on other boards they don't want any "off topic" posts (anything not nudist related), and I think a post like yours is great because we get to learn a little more about each other.

I'm glad to hear how your self-defense classes went. I've always wanted to get into that, but we don't have the time, or money -- at least, not to keep going to classes.

A tattoo? I say, to each his own. I think that I would probably never get one myself. To me, tattoos often remind me of graffiti. When done right, as likely is your case, it is beautiful. Other times it is just an eye sore and ruins God's handiwork. And then other times, some people just get carried away with it.

As for your classes and workload, etc. I can relate. I'm not in school any more, but we stay terribly busy. I've made it a habit to check this board every day or so though just so that I don't become inactive here again.

Thanks again for posting. I hope we hear more from you again soon.
