College Dinner

I had the "big dinner" and "pep rally" tonight at the community college where I begin teaching next week. It was quite a nice evening. I met some of my colleagues in small break-out meetings for both humanities and music. All new faculty were also acknowledged at dinner. What is such a neat thing is all the times I heard how pleased they all were to have me on the faculty, they looked forward to working with me, welcome aboard, etc. It's a great feeling to be wanted.

I've talked a little about doing a recital with the powers that be. It looks like a go for me to do a lecture/recital on the history of the horn from the conch shell and shofar to the modern horn. I've also been asked to consider playing a piece for horn, soprano and piano, and to play on a faculty (all of us in the music "department") recital in April.

I'm imagining myself being pretty busy this semester...and loving every minute of it!

Nancy

That sounds like a challenging and rewarding environment in which to work. I am glad to hear that you are getting so much joy from your work.

BTW, I just finished reading today's "Daily Digest" from Fig Leaf Forum & it reproduced your message on evangelism from the BACN forum. Well said!

Nancy, we have seen you go through some rough times when you first came aboard, and now you have found more friends than you seem to keep up with! And you dreams are coming true!

Thanks for coming back here and sharing with us. We hope to meet you personally as well.

Boyd
