Hello Scott,
Welcome to our Forum!
How to become a nudist is something you really don't need any help on, just take off your clothes.
But to be a nudist as you percieve others to be, a little more relaxed, enjoying your naturist lifestyle without feeling "naughty", does take some time.
At first, when you are the only one in the family, it does seem out of place and unsure. It's true, your wife may be excited about the prospect, but she may freak out too! You know your wife far better than anyone.
First of all, do your research. At this point, don't try to impress the neighbors yet. It can be a bit risky. I have snuck around nude most of my life and got a lot of practice, but that doesn't mean that someone didn't see me and just ignored it. Maybe I just got very lucky to get by with as much as I did (and do).
If your laws in your town are very restrictive, neighbors or no neighbors, that may be a problem too.
You will want to look up a national or international club that helps people in their naturist lifestyle.
INF (International Naturist Federation) can be a big help in your area.
There are other naturists in your area as well. You will want to look up a local landed (permanent location) or non-landed (travel) club. They will help you warm up quickly and you can make a lot of new friends and extended family. Believe me, you are not alone! You got people all around you who can help you along the way.
And now to get your wife involved, talk to her. Tell her your feelings. If she is one of those people who are going to throw the bible at you (figuratively or literally) you may want to first get your research done and understand what the bible really says. Just don't try to "out logic" her. That only frustrates the issue. Lead her by example and faith. Just don't do something that would jeopardize your relationship. We always say that your relationship with God and your immediate family is far more important than naturism.
There are sites for the "reluctant spouse syndrome" you can visit. You can read my website for biblical thoughts and there is a page where you can find more links at
My Favorite Sites that will lead you to other Christian Naturist sites.
You also may want to subscribe (free) to the Fig Leaf Forum by John Kundert (Canadian) who has an extremely balanced view on naturism for Christians. (see My Favorite Sites for link)
A lot of caring love for your wife and a strong leadership ability will be needed. Use your ears more than your mouth.
But on the other hand, your wife may throw off her clothes too and say "It's about time you got in the program,
lets go!!!" In that case, go with her!

(Don't we all wish??)
Either way, stay with us and let us know how it's going. We like to get feedback from those who are first timers and how well they are doing. Some succeed and move on, some succeed and stay with us, some don't succeed at all. But this is a growing phenomenon and we are excited to be a part of the grass roots of it, especially for the Christians.
The general public seems to be getting a good handle on it, the Christians are the next frontier and we are a part of the growing team to help them and encourage them. I can see by 2010 the exponential growth that will come out of this. But along with that growth comes the growing pains. We need to prepair for that too.

May you Live Nude and Prosper
