Thanks all for voting for the dicision to close for the summer.
Results are half of the total voted closed. That tells me most said yes to closing compared to one voting please stay open and saying "once a month" which is not really enough. The others voted "if I remember" which is not even close enough to stay open, since I do have to remember every week.
Another discision maker is Gwin and I are making very heavy plans to be on the road a lot for her new business, and we hope to be busting wide open! We first thought of making a "local" business depending on the local schools and small businesses. But we found out very quickly (thank God for that quick learning experience) that fairs and large family outdoor shows such as "Taste of the Carolinas", and other major annual events that attracts families by hundreds may prove to be the best venue for our business.
And it gives us the opportunity to travel some and be able to work from home as well.
Since my job situation has not changed, I am relaxing more into supporting her business (even when she thinks it may not be ready for me) than pushing a job hunt that seems so far, fruitless.
Now that doesnt' mean that if someone came along and offered me a good paying job I would turn it down! Especially a good company too! At this moment, there is still a job pending out there that I'm waiting for an interview and if it is God's will, then I will be working for Volvo, a large Trucking manufacturing company right here in Greensboro. Volvo has a very good reputation here for being one of the best places to work at. And they pay well too.
So that is not out of the question at all. BUT if that falls through, then I will push hard to make her business work and be there full time.
I will still put out my cards for sign work and other self employment projects.
Our hope is to still be there at the AANR this summer. It's still an open proposition and we are scheduling around it...so far.
So we have a good reason to close it for the summer and I thank you ALL for participating and supporting it.
PLEASE use this board more often this summer. It just takes a few minutes and a few comments.
We could use some good trip reports, reports of good news and your needs for prayers.
