After getting another email explaining what will be taking place next week, I thought I would let the cat out of the bag, so to speak.
As I wrote a few weeks ago, I had a phone interview two weeks ago for a full-time teaching position at the college I'm at now. The committee told me at the conclusion of the interview that it would be at least two weeks before they would get back with me. Well, I was contacted LAST Wednesday...less than a week after the phone interview. I've made it to the last round which is the on campus interview, meeting with the president of the college, and teaching demonstration. I'm scheduled for next Thursday, May 4, at 2 PM prior to giving two more finals. Yes, you read it correctly, I'm having an interview during finals weeks! With the shear craziness that is finals week, and adding in judging of two days of band contest (money's too good to pass up) and private students, plus an on campus interview -- I think they should give me the job if I survive the week.
I've prayed about this and feel good about it. The position just "feels right." It would mean a lot of changes for me; the biggest of which would mean that I could move out of the parental unit's abode and into my own "Naturist's Retreat." O.K., I could at least be nude in the house as much as I wanted to. But I could also go to the resort more often and possibly get involved with a non-landed club here that has given me an invitation to join them sometime. Of course, that's not the only reason I would like the job. I've worked hard to get to this point and feel I'm ready for the challenge of a full-time, tenure-track position.
I'll keep you all posted.
PEACE!
Nancy
