I think the only reason we are nudists is because the world is so clothes minded that it looks as if we are the strange ones. So a title has been given to us.
But when God created Adam and Eve, they were naked, so does that make them nudists? No. They were created by God to be exactly as God made them to be. Clothing is a by product of Satans deception.
Is Jesus a nudist? No. Is he a clothist? No. He is the son of God. He is fully God and fully man.
We are children of God. We happen to not allow ourselves to believe that clothing is a sign of righteousness. But we do believe that righteousness can be our clothing.
Jesus did not allow what people wore or not, to play on his emotions or values. He did not judge by outward appearances.
Jesus knew the man from the inside out, not the other way around.
Could Jesus be nude in public? Yes, at least where appropriate. If it is apropriate to be nude in Time Square, then Jesus could do that, just as any one of us could do it.
But if it is inappropriate and will cause social damage and more problems that it is worth, then no, he would not do it, and neither will we.
But he will do it if it promotes and furthers the kingdom of God.
I don't think we are nudists, but that the world is clothists. They clothed themselves to show the appearance of righteousness. To hide thier shame, to decieve others.
But we must be careful to not allow our nudity to do the same, believing we are righteous because we are nude. No, God is our righteousness and HE is the one who clothes us with HIS righteousness.
Boyd Allen
"May the Lord protect our nudity from the sight of those who will not benefit, and may he allow us to be seen by those who will."
