I thought I'd start a new thread so "Hopeful" and a few others can help me out here.

I am not sure how you might compare Star Ranch (never been there) to the AANR convention at Riverside Ranch. I certainly don't think the convention week will be "dead."
I find Riverside Ranch to be a great place to relax and spend some quality nude time. The owners, Dave and June, are great folks, and for those who are there for the first time, they provide a short tour and a "day on them." Most resorts do that for first-timers to the resort.
I'm not sure what you are looking for, but Riverside Ranch has a pool, hot tub, games of various types, a wonderful meadow along the banks of the San Antonio River, and a nice deck area and club house. The first time I went there last year on a Friday it was somewhat dead, but I really enjoyed the peacefulness of it all. You might get online and search their website. I don't know it offhand, but search Riverside Ranch Nudist Resort and it should come up. You can even email Dave and June.
As far as Christian nudists being there, you'll have a mix of people. The only way you find out whether someone is Christian is to talk to them and find out in the conversation. I couldn't tell you who might be there, but I can tell you that everyone I've met there are genuinely nice, caring folks who just enjoy living life sans clothing.
I've never been to Hippie Hollow in Austin, but do know it's on the lake. I guess my concern there would be that it's really a public area, and from what I understand there's really just a "don't ask, don't tell, don't see" kind of policy, and that's it's illegal to actually be nude there. I'm just not into wanting to take the chance of being "illegal." I'm sure it is beautiful there, though, from what I've heard.
