Prayer request for employment

I covet your prayers for this matter.

For the past three yeas, I have been teaching at a Christian High School. The first year, it was part-time, last year it was full-time and this year it was again part-time. It was based on finances due to lower than hoped for enrollment. As a result of being part-time this year, I had to take a second job. Between the two jobs, I worked about 64 hours a week from October through early April. At my request, I had the hours cut back slightly at the second job so I was only doing about 50 hours per week.

I was told that I would be welcomed back to teach next year but again it would be part-time. I did not accept the offer. So the other part-time position is now a full-time position but pays less.

I am sensing a call to be witnessing in the "marketplace" instead of being inside the "fortress." I have an engineering degree and about 20 years of experience.

One good thing about not being at the school is that there was a provision for imediate dismissal for any inappropriate activity. I do belive that they school board would consider being a home nudist inappropriate, let alone one who likes nude hiking. Loss of employment for such is not a major concern now.

Your prayers would be appreciated.

Blessings to you,
Bill

Many of us know only to well your situation bro, we are putting you on our prayer list now, and expect God to do a miracle as he knows just where you are, 2Tm:3:12: Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. When you find your self suffering such persecutions you know you are on the right track, and it is at the darkest hour when God turns it all around. Keep us posted bro.

"I am sensing a call to be witnessing in the 'marketplace' instead of being inside the 'fortress.'"

I can't walk around in your brain, but I think you may be "sensing" the right call. So many Christian organizations cloister themselves inside a building, preach to the choir and expect the faithfull to labor for a pittance because, "We're doing God's work." Unfortunately, the grocery store, the banks and credit card companies don't see eye to eye with that philosophy and expect actual money to pay the bills so they can pay theirs. It sounds like a message to you to move on, which you seem to have already sensed, too. Plus, you'd be walking on eggshells all the time wondering who might know you're a nekkid boy. Get out into the secular world, set an example and show people what a Christian is like without beating them over the head with it. We will all pray for your guidence here. That's why we read and post in Boyd's site. We are all a community. When you say it, consider it done.

Prayer requests

I will make sure to keep you in thought and prayer. Hope you find a good position in a convenient location.

I also have a couple of prayer requests to mention.

I just returned from a whirlwind weekend trip to Rochester, NY to see my sister's graduation from her residency program. Come the 15th of July she will have to move out of her current house and on the way to Salem, OR where she has taken her first "real" job outside of residency. Please pray that this transition goes well and I'm sure all of you can imagine all the stuff to deal with when moving cross-country.

Also, my brother was recently bitten by a brown recluse spider on the inner side of the back of his thigh. He is currently on antibiotics and letting the site drain after it had blistered. As I may have mentioned before on this forum, my brother is a campus minister, so being able to go out and "hang out" with college students is a big part of his job. Treatment for a brown recluse bite, depending on the necrosis, can be very long and extremely painful. I haven't really researched treatment that much, but I'm afraid that they will have to remove any tissue that has the slightest hint of necrosis to prevent further tissue death. Please pray that we have been able to treat his leg sufficiently and quickly enough that the necrosis doesn't progress much more and my brother can begin to go through the healing process.

Laura
