It makes me sooo angry!!!! More Christmas commercialism (not naturist related)

Recently I heard an add back home for a local casino in New Mexico. This add that I have heard twice over the radio makes my blood boil.

Basically, in a nutshell, the radio add tells the listener to celebrate Christmas in July. Now how does one celebrate Christmas in July? Well according to this comercial all one has to do is go to their casino in July and win lots of cash, then Christmas comes early.

This commercial makes me sooo angry. I know there have been lots of commercials that commercialize Christmas, but this one has sunk to a new low. How dear they say celebrate Christmas by wasting your money at a casino!!!! Christmas is special to me and lots of others. Christmas is about the birth of Christ, loving your neighbor, giving to others, and spending time with family. But most importantly Christmas is about Christ.

I am so furious that a casino would sink so low to commercialize and degrade Christ's birthday even more.

All the canino owners are interested in is getting you there so they can get your money, and they will use any gimmick to do that. They will make more money off you than you will ever get off them.

I agree that Christmas has become entirely too commercialized. It has become about everything except Christ, which is why some places use an X in place of Christ in Christmas.

Very Angry Indeed

I would understand that! It's OK to commercialize Christmas to the point where people makes the association of Christmas to buying a lot of stuff, but still get bent out of shape to view the image of God as created! but again, the world is against God, so to trivialize Christmas and denounce the image of God as bad is expected.

I'm sure this fellow would understand your plight!

Its O.K.. Take a Deep Breath

I think like so many things in the world "Christmas" has become a generic name or holiday, if you will like Kleenex, Xerox, Q-Tips, or whatever. Because the non-religious and people of other beliefs have joined in over the years to also celebrate, it has become a secular holiday as well. However, I don't worry about losing the Christian value of the day because its always with me inside. The holiday is whatever you make it. Its like saying gays are threatening marriage. They never threatened me. I'm still married because I want to be married to the woman I'm with. That will always be with me. How I view or celebrate Christmas can't be watered down or trivialized because of commercialization because I won't let it. I don't have to, "keep the Christ in Christmas," becaue He never left. The complaint about Christmas has been around for decades and will never go away. We, as nudists, offend many people and we expect them to simply ignore us and don't look. Well, I say do the same for the commercialization of Christmas. Or...write the casino and let them know calmly and rationally that it offends you and that you won't patronize their establishment with commercials like that. We live in a capitalistic society (thank goodness) where you are free to buy the products of your choosing...or not. Keep it inside you and you won't have to worry about commercialization or losing the true meaning. In fact, try to celebrate the true meaning of Christ all year 'round. Why wait for a season to have,"goodwill towards men?" And while you're at it, when you start to hear that commercial, turn off the radio.

I understand what you are saying Terry

I understand what you are saying Terry. GrantedI keep Christ in my heart all the time, or at least try to. I server my fellow man to the best of my ability and do my best to worship him all day long. However it still doesn't relieve the blow of that shameless commercialism for the day we celebrate his birthday. To me that's complete mockery of a holiday I hold sacred.
