New Addition

Many of you know that I moved about two months ago to my current apartment in a new small city. Living alone has it's benefits, but it does leave me feeling lonely at times. My parents first started talking about giving me their eldest boston terrier when I was looking for an apartment complex. I ended up in a place that allows small pets (25lbs. or less). Well, yesterday I brought my 6yo boston, Bessie, home with me.

It is quite a change for her, as all of my parents dogs are outside animals, full time. Now, she has a kennel to sleep in at night and has to become accustomed to living inside. Being inside is probably better for her right now as the heat here in TX really has been getting to her this summer. Being that she's 6 years old, she's seen her "better" days and has put on a little weight which probably doesn't help.

Pray that the transition goes well and Bessie feels comfortable in her new home. Also, we could use some prayers to help with taking a few of those extra pounds off (She's actually about 32lbs and isn't supposed to be more than 25lbs). I hope that all is going well with everyone else's summers!

Good to hear from you. Dog's manage to do well, just treat them like dogs, not humans.

There is a good show on TV called Dog Whisperer and shows how to handle dogs. Often, it's the human he needs to change, not the dog.

We are doing pretty good. Car is still broken down, very hot here as well. I'm still working. Project ended Friday, but a few of us goes back Monday for an extra day of support. Since my car is still sitting there, I can get it back too. Hopefully, it will crank up and I can get it home Monday.

I did get some nude time yesterday, don't know if the neighbors were home or not, but didn't seem to cause any problems. Just too hot to wear clothes while mowing grass. I let the grass get too out of control so it took me longer to mow it.

Keep us informed, we want to keep up with our friends here.

Speaking of Texas friends, where is Nancy?

Boyd

I'll keep you, and your dog, in my prayers

I am glad to hear that life is going well for the most part in Texas.

So you have a Boston Terrier!! That's wonderful. Those are one of my favorite dogs. In the future I want to get one of these three dogs, a Boston, an English Bulldog, or a Pug. I would also like to get a little Persian kitty.

Anyway I know you feel about feeling alone. I have been feeling alone a lot lately. I feel alone at the moment. Luckily Christ is watching over me, so I am not completely alone.

I'll keep you in my prayers that you won't be so lonely.

And remember, if you ever are lonely and need to talk then email me. In fact everyone on this page can email me. I love getting emails. So Laura if you want to email me again, that'd be great. And Boyd, Ralph VA, Jochannon, Nancy, and the rest, also feel free to email me.

Watch out for depression

July 31 2006, 6:45 AM

Our host daughter from 5 years in Baton Rouge moved to Columbus, OH area just before we moved here to Charlottesville, about 6 years ago. She bought a condominium and moved into it there after about her 2nd year there. We've gone out there a few times but hadn't been out for about 3 years since she came here for a visit over a Christmas holiday.

Guess the living alone and (2nd hand, not from her) a blunted affair at 39 years old got to her. She went into severe depression in May. With a couple friends' help there and after seeing a psychiatrist, she's coming out of it. We were just recently over there to see her and had dinner with those 2 good friends.

Another good thing is she decided to be baptised. One of those friends, a good Christian, helped a lot in this.

Think our Sunday at church there was the first one that she came to, other than small group meetings that they have Sunday night. At least it's a progressive congregation and less likely to turn her off from its rigid stuff spouted off every Sunday like you see in many congregations throughout the South.

Oh, what triggered this: she has a cat that she calls Bubbles. Before, she had a couple hamsters. These died on her. Bubbles comforts her.

Ralph
