The original languages of the bible did not use vowels between consonants -- the reader had to put them in.. Thus Moses has horns in one famous statue...it is like two words different by vowels, but alike in consonants..
Imagine many translations and copies later by hand...
You really need a parallel translation bible to see the real difference..
Now add cultural spins.. naked to one culture does not make the same in another.. topless is offensive in Victorian circles, yet in Papaua New Guinea it is the norm.. even to receive firest holy communions..
I am into a two year bible study with power point and handsouts each night.. quite revealing.. even about putting words into Jesus' mouth -- about dealing with one who has a dispute wioth a brother and taking them to members of the church.. a word not yet used in those days..
Jesus did not have a secretary and there is not a miracle and parable historical sequence in the bible..
We are taught the bible is a religious book..
Faith plays its hand when we are assured that all that is needed is available to us in the book...
