How about stories from non-pastors

Hello, again.

I haven't gotten any responses yet from pastors who have been freed from pornography through naturism (yet!), but they're not the only ones I'm interested in hearing from.

If you have a story of bondage to pornography, but have now found freedom from it through naturism, would you please tell us your story?

I understand that anonymity is most likely going to be expected in each case, so please don't worry about that. My intent is to have a document that could be shared with others for their encouragement and instruction, and to challenge them in their thinking about Biblical nudity.

If so, please post your story here. If you'd rather post completely anonymously, go to http://cnvillage.org and login (or join if needed) and send it in a Private Message (I go by MatthewNeal at CNV) to me and I'll make sure it is not obviously connect to your real name or online handle.
=============
Please use the following as a guideline.

1. Give us a basic understanding of the nature of your involvement in pornography before.

2. Describe the transformation and how significant it as been since you adopted a Biblical/naturist mindset regarding nudity.

3. Tell us how long you've been living in this freedom.

4. Relate to us the basic denominational/faith tradition from which you come (not enough details for us to figure out who you are, but enough to give us your general affiliation... eg. I'm a conservative protestant evangelical.)

You can also include anything else you might feel is significant to your story... like how it impacted your relationship with your wife or family or others... or how you came to your new understanding, etc. Just make it your story and relate your testimony.

Thanks!

Matt

Re: How about stories from non-pastors

I have heard a lot of stories about people who have been freed from the bondage of pornography. I have found that my ideas have certainly changed over the years, and is still changing.

Freed 100% may not be completely accurate, but I would say that over time, our thoughts begin to change and we understand better. It would be like saying we are freed from the pulls of sin because we are baptised in Christ, which we know better.

Personally, my thoughts have changed over the years, but quite frankly I cannot say exactly how. I have seen where those who have discovered naturism has commented on how much it has changed them about pornography and do not have the same pulls towards the flesh as they used to. But then I also have seen where others have become more relaxed about sex and feel less guilt and worry over things that the average Christian would frown on.

My attitude towards women certainly have changed! I don't look at women with lust, and I can enjoy being around other people nude without getting a sexual charge! In fact, they can be nude around me without worrying about what I would do! But I am married and that can change a man or woman. Single, I had more problems!

Minds and hearts are hard to change. Now to be able to come around to a realization that there is a difference and our attitudes can change over time, can come quickly which will help to overcome willingly. I think that kind of freedom comes quicker than the reality of success, but that is half of success already.

Porn is no longer a pull for me, but I'm more relaxed about sexuality and have less pent up worries than I used to. I think we call that quality, or "better sex for better couples". We are not allowing our sexual ideas be tampered with by the world anymore. Naturism is so different that both the Church and the world has to do a double take! Brings them both back to the middle in a balanced way of thinking from extreme "if it feels good, do it" to the opposite extreme of severe prudishness.

We bring humanity back to its simple elements and not be ashamed or afraid of sexuality and allow God to do His work.
