Just a reminder

While my prayer request isn't as urgent in nature as the two posted previous to mine, I still wanted to bring it up. A while back, I posted about my mom's scheduled total knee replacement. While I have been given more peace concerning my mom's surgery, I would still like everyone to be praying for her. She is still scheduled to have her surgery on Monday, 12/18. Please continue praying for her, as I'm sure you can never have enough prayers! Thank you all, I know that you have been sending up many many genuinely heartfelt prayers on so many issues here lately. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas season!

Hope it goes well.

The surgery often goes well. It's the pain and rehabilitation after that is hard on some. Hope and pray that she can take those powerful pain pills or doesn't need them. Have had a lot of acquaintances with knee surgery who didn't seem to have big problems but still took 2 or 3 months or more to get back to walking normally and all. One bowling partner recently couldn't take the big pain pills and had to endure pain for 3 weeks taking just Tylenol. She's now doing the rehabilitation stuff and doing okay. She's the only nudist among the approximately 60 bowlers in the senior leagues.

One of the bowlers with a new knee is back doing his 200+ games again.

My right knee (the slide knee for us converted left handed bowlers) has been giving me some pain the last 2 weeks. Took some Ibuprofen this morning for it. Hope it's gonna pop back (been popping already, for sure).

prayers with your mom

December 15 2006, 11:44 AM

Laura-
My wife had a TKR in May. She was back to work at the hospital in August. Her unit director had hers done in July and was back after 3 months.

I also work in the hospital transporting patients. I see patients with TKR and hip replacements often.

It takes time for the healing process and for the return of muscle tone.

I'll be praying for your mom.
