Does anybody want a challenge

Personally, I think replying is a lost cause but....

I ran across this blog post today.

http://www.shelleytherepublican.com/2007/05/07/nudity-is-offensive-to-god.aspx

She states a lot of untruth... Is it worth answering?

Sorry, Don't Bother

May 7 2007, 9:05 AM

I don't think you can respond in any sort of logical way. This woman spreads hate and prejudice at anyone not like her. She makes the statement, "Needless to say that the perverts favorite holiday locations are so called “nudist colonies” and “swinger clubs”. Pedophiles especially like to go to nudist colonies whenever they want to watch naked children. This is just sickening. It’s time we ban these cesspools of sexual perversion!" Or..."they even play tennis naked, which does not come as a surprise to me because tennis is more of a homosexual’s game anyway. The worst of all is that they even have naked prayer meetings. These meetings are often used to get closer to one another and start touching. Sometimes these meetings become open air orgies. They are using God to satisfy their sexual perversion." How can you debate stuff like that? Plus, she advocates child abuse through beatings with a paddle. I have a woman on my 360 friends list who is a wonderful Christian woman who is not a nudist, but would never condemn anyone who likes to be and is even open to reading how much I enjoy it and has said she might consider it. THAT'S a Christian. It may not be for her, but she doesn't put down anyone else who might enjoy it. The woman in your link is totally closed off to any type of talk and has no idea what goes on in our "colonies." I would venture to guess that she would even lump anyone who doesn't agree with her in the sexual perversion category.

I also scrolled down a bit and besides the rant she makes that's obviously against Mexicans as illegals and saying that they are after your white daughters, she makes this statement, "Daylight Saving Time started almost a month early this year. You would think that memebers of Congress would have considered the warming effect that an extra hour of daylight would have on our climate." She doesn't have enough common sense to know that an hour of daylight wasn't "added" to the day, but simply shifted around. If I were to meet her in person, I could not even talk because my head would be spinning too much from the illogical, crazy talk.

Don't bother. She's just as bad as any terrorist except she uses words and her hate site to promote her views under the guise of "freedom" and the flag. I've seen it before, but not quite that bad. I know a guy who feels all the muslims are, "out to get us," and that's why we need to beef up security in this nation. I just smile, nod and pretend my cell phone just rang on vibrate so I can walk away.

Imbalanced views

May 7 2007, 1:34 PM

"Daylight Saving Time started almost a month early this year. You would think that memebers of Congress would have considered the warming effect that an extra hour of daylight would have on our climate."

I missed that one! Whoooo hoooo! Now I KNOW we are on the right track! If that person is representing our detractors, we can slip our clothes off and cruise right on in!

...oh...I already got them off...

That reminds me, I was in California when one man on the city bus was ranting about the oil crises. He said that we were pumping too much oil from one side of the earth and the whole earth is going to flip right over from the being imbalanced! Talk about being imbalanced!

Boyd,

That woman is so unbelievably filled with anger. She doesn't mince her words and doesn't mind calling people all kinds of names. I tried to reply to her reply to me and couldn't get the letters right at the bottom. I couldn't tell if they were all capitals or small case, or a mixture of the two. I also couldn't tell if that first symbol was a letter or what it was. I tried twice and failed both times. The fun part was that what I wrote was gone each time. Of course, it's a waste of time replying to someone as angry, close minded and ignorant as she is.

I'm also curious as to the "Porn sites" she claims are on your Web site. I haven't seen any, but then I haven't clicked on everything. However, I'm sure that anything that has nudity is porn to her.

The "Song of Solomon" in the Bible is porn to her! It is in the 'Pornography' link on the site. Maybe, Greg.

Too Much

May 15 2007, 6:17 AM

If the conservative Christians want to throw out books with too much sex and violence in it, they need to get rid of the bible! (Laurence Welk was accused of having to much sax and violins)

RUN!

May 7 2007, 12:45 PM

This woman/group...whoever it is - SCARES ME! God's HIT LIST?! Since when did God publish a HIT LIST!? These people are out of control. Not only are they mis-informed about naturism, but just about every other subject that they post so passionately about on that site. I personally am quite offended at the post about the immigration issue. Hispanics - not "'spics" - can be upstanding Christians, citizens, and parents. My father, in particular, is one of them - he raised 3 upstanding, Christian children to become freedom- and peace-loving citizens of this nation. This is the kind of group/individual that gives Christians - and God - a bad rap. One thing for sure - I pray that I NEVER become as closed-minded and hateful as this website displays!

RUN!...And Don't Look Back

May 7 2007, 4:16 PM

You are very right, Laura. I work around people of all races and nationalities and we all joke about each other, but people like her aren't joking and that's what's scary. At work there's a Hispanic service at 1pm Sundays and one of the volunteers is a guy where I would gladly go to his house, sit at his table and drink beer with. He lost his job several years ago, decided to go to seminary and was born in the U.S. To paint all people of a race is pretty whacky, but you know there's all kinds of people in the world. I saw a minute of a video on the Net of a woman who was babbling on about how troops were being killed overseas because they or their families had sinned greatly and they deserved to die. WHAT? Is that nuts or what? I couldn't watch any more because it was so far in outer space that it was painful to continue. I can't remember all the correct reasoning of hers, but it was out there. She truly believed that troops that were killed deserved it. How Old Testament is that?

My only prayer for people like that is that they don't have enough power and influence to sway others to their cause politically so more hate isn't perpetuated and that other see their ramblings for what they are.

Jon,

You or someone with your name and mode of writing seems to have gotten in. I tried writing a message, and it rejected it. Didn't put in a spam code rightly or something. Should have copied what I wrote and tried again. Didn't want to type through it again and gave up.

As some said, it may be like tossing pearls before swine.

Wonder what she does about Ezekiel

May 8 2007, 6:27 PM

One of the modern versions translates the mishmash of Ezekiel KJV about "issue of donkeys", etc. to "hung like a donkey and with the ejaculate of a horse". Something like that. Don't recall where it is, somewhere about the middle.

"One of the modern versions translates the mishmash of Ezekiel KJV about "issue of donkeys", etc. to "hung like a donkey and with the ejaculate of a horse". Something like that. Don't recall where it is, somewhere about the middle."

Probably chapter 16 or 23, where Ezekiel described Israel's unfaithfulness in very explicit language, including the above. (It's implied even in the old King James.) You get the sense that neither God nor His prophets are as prudish as many Christian leaders today. lol

Re: Does anybody want a challenge

May 8 2007, 8:48 PM

I just entered this:

"Hi, Shelley. This is just to let you know that I am another Bible-believing Christian, conservative in my theology, who sees nothing wrong with social nudity. Believe it or not, there are any number of us throughout these United States. And we hate sexual immorality and child abuse as much as you do. But–believe it or not–it is possible for people to be naked together without doing sex! You’d think God designed the world that way. “And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.” –Genesis 2:25"

We'll see if it gets an answer.

You know, on second look, I think Shelley The Republican is a spoof. Of course she's going to respond "negatively" to Jon-Marc! But I just bet "she's" a liberal sending up the supposed Religious Right.

I think he's got it

May 9 2007, 6:15 AM

I'd say that Jochanaan has got it right. This is so over the top that it is intentional. A couple of give aways to this is her openly identifying with a political party and using Christ's immage as pasties and g-strings, I believe someone that radical would consider that way out of line.

It reminds me of one of the calling campaigns 2 days before an election by the Gay Rights promotion group supporting the conservative candidate.

In the 70's I believe it was Pat Paulson who in his dead pam humorous way proposed clothing zoo animals for modesty sake. The scary thing was that he got letters in support of his position.

The "die-alogue" continues

May 9 2007, 4:22 PM

Just posted on Shelley The Republican's site:

"jochanaan,
shame on you! Only the Devil uses the Bible for his evil gains!

You can’t take anything from Genesis literally!

Shelley"

"Shelley,

Oh really? I thought taking Genesis literally was what our Christian brothers and sisters wanted to do in Kansas!

And what am I gaining by confessing I like nudity? Absolutely nothing! In fact, I’m losing my reputation. I mean, do you really think I’d confess to something like this if I WERE a child molestor? Not even I’m THAT dumb! *lol*"

I just might continue this as long as it's fun.

Don't attract them to this site! Once they get in, it would take major surgery or an exorcist to get them back out!

Another SNL Church Lady?

May 9 2007, 6:15 PM

I suspected a spoof right away when I saw photos that no conservative textile Christian would post, even to illustrate indecency.

I suspect that "Shelley" is a man who is like the Saturday Night Live "Church Lady", perversely titillated by the bare flesh while tut-tutting all the while.

There are a lot of straw men in Shelley's comments. As family naturists, especially Christian naturists, we oppose nudity for the purpose of sexual enticement.

This is a little more controversial, but many of us oppose hot pants and halter tops for our daughters when they are out in the textile world, such as illustrated in the "Russian Girls" photo.

I worry that girls in textile society are put in the position of wearing the "barely there" outfits while boys cover up in board shorts and long tee shirts. With total nudity for both genders, there is more equity. In naturist settings, teens are generally within sight of adults who can serve as informal chaperones.

I would worry for the safety of a daughter heading out to the mall under any circumstance, but even more so in that brief attire that many men regard as the "come and get it" look.

But dispite my concerns about the disparity between boys that cover up and girls that tend to bare as much as the law will allow, I would probably not veto a daughter going to a supervised event such as a picnic, campout or ball game in brief attire (provided that the other girls are dressed pretty much the same way).

Some of the other arguments Shelley posted about nudity refer to nudity in a sexually immoral context. Far too many people don't even consider the possibility of non-sexual nude recreation.

Shelley may be a spoof, but there are too many people who would agree with the general prudish sentiment.

The same trailer you had in Turtle lake is the

me, Mark, and my Nephew, Brent. Well, he went
to some group that took him away from the
truth of naturism. Anyway, love your comments.

Please, respond, as I have read you in Florida,
