What I Did on my Summer Vacation...

Okay...I know we're in the middle of the traditional "slow" time for most web based groups but how about stopping by when you get tired sunburned and share what kind of fun and summery things are keeping you busy?

It's been a whirlwind Summer for us so far and it doesn't show any signs of slowing down much. Some of the highlights for me have been a weekend at Avalon in WV for AANR's Government Affairs Training program, CNC-East at Cherokee in TN, 4 days at Sunny Rest in PA for the AANR-East convention followed by a Bull Roast next Saturday at MAHESO in MD and a short couple of weeks later in August I'll be at the Music/Folk Fest at Avalon. Oh, and I almost forgot this past Saturday's trip to an Open House at Avalon and tomorrow's trip back out to Avalon to meet with a missionary couple - the husband is a bush pilot. Whew - working up a good tan!

Often when we visit the local landed clubs we're joined by our good friends (mfsimbs and wife for those who know them) and any place there's a pool they're sure to bring "splash balls" (http://www.pooltoy.com/splashballs.html - just an example, I think they picked theirs up at Wal-Mart). This past Saturday was no exception and it didn't take long to bring out the kid in at least of population in the pool. These things are a great way to bridge the generation gap with kids young and old joining in.

One who joined in was a young lady just entering H.S. (she had quite an arm - we encouraged her to try out for a couple of team sports like baseball or softball). Anyway -- as Bev (my wife) chatted with her we discovered that she went to school and rode the bus with the children of a good friend of Bev's who had moved to WV a couple of years ago. I got to thinking just how effective Bev's friend and family (who are Christians - went to our old church) could be in reaching their neighbors if they were to share some good clean naturist fun. It's a real shame that our culture and society make it so difficult.

Yesterday after church Bev, being a natural born evangelist - she just can't help herself, shared out naturist "pastime" with yet another friend when she asked about our obvious time in the sun. Surprise, surprise - her friend not only didn't think we were nuts but said her sister and tried naturism in CA. The friend may not be interested in giving it a try herself but she's interested enough to ask for our local club's website.

I sure don't claim any credit...God is at work and we're hanging on for the ride!

When God does a work, nothing stands in his way, not even us! Keep up the great work of watching God work. And may many more of us has that gumption Bev has for speaking out her mind and being able to reach others.
