Not really a suprise from my wife

Just posted this on my blog and wanted to post it here since some of you don't have access to the blog.

My new position is keeping me quite busy and I have not been online for almost two weeks. When I checked my home email last night, I had about 1300 messages, most of which were spam or outdated news updates.

Last Saturday (9/15) was my wife’s birthday. We spent part of the day driving towards the central part of Pennsylvania where she grew up. We were looking for a local newspaper for Berks or Lebanon County. We wanted to check the ads for rental property, a farmette to be specific. We had been talking about moving to the western side of the Lehigh Valley because the area closer to the Delaware River (and New Jersey) is being developed as a bedroom community for commuters to NYC.

After picking up a paper, we drove through the country to avoid highway construction. I also wanted to stop at a shop on the way home. After our stop, we passed a ranch that was for rent. She went back on Monday and the owners happened to be there cleaning the house. She spoke with them for quite some time, received a tour of the house and came home VERY EXCITED!

You would not believe how she tried to sell me on the place.

As you might guess, it is in the country surrounded by farms and the farmers are not anxious to sell to developers. YEA! There are corn fields that border the lot on three sides. Adding a privacy fence on either end of the house would allow us to sit out back au naturel. She told me that she kept thinking throughout her tour that I would love the idea of being in the backyard as God intended. My wife was stressing the point that she would join me in the backyard since it was in the midst of a farming area and it would be unlikely that anyone would stumble into the backyard. That is far different than where we currently reside on the very busy main street of a small town. The houses are only 15 to 30 feet from each other, and sometimes less than that. This ranch has a farm on either side but they are at least a quarter mile away.

BTW- We went to look at the house again on Tuesday and I got to meet the owners. We checked out the distance to work and it is about half of what we are traveling now. It looked good to me. She will be contacting the owners this week for more info. And she wants to start going through stuff in the attic to weed out stuff we won’t be moving.

You give us all hope! And less than what you are traveling to work now? That is even better!!

We will be a lot more remote than what we are now, but still not a perfect scenario unless the neighbors have no problem with our nudity!

Now keep in mind (sorry, I had to do this) corn does get mowed down and farmers do ride their equipment through. But then they would probably think you are perfectly normal anyway!

I, as well as everyone here, would hope that you two get that house and move quickly!

My goal for "Live Nude and Prosper" is getting closer! May it happen to all of us here!

Sounds nice

Sounds nice, Boyd, but I'm a bit confused as to proximity. Thought your new job was in the south end of Va, closer to White Tail than where you now are in NC.

So, I'm having a time figuring how this place would be very close to the south end of Va.

"South end of Va."?

I didn't think Virginia had a south end. South border, yes; but on the map it hardly looks like an end, but rather the longest side...
