Re: Hey!

I'm glad someone finaly said something! I have been gone for a very long time until a few months ago. The website format has changed and I don't know how to initiate a new thread. This site almost died years ago and was revived through "praise reports". What has God done for, or in, you folks? My daily praise is that I woke up again today with no toe tag and able to stand and walk. Details available!

Hi Ed,

I lived at Turtle Lake Resort for 18 months before moving down to Florida August 2005. Now I live in Gulf Coast Resort--home of old folks. LOL!

OK, Mark, will do. All you had to do was ask. I don't generally post my email address since it can get some unwanted replies. I've had some strange "men" write to me making improper suggestions.

Talked to Boyd Saturday

October 14 2007, 12:33 AM

I called Boyd Saturday morning.
He was in good spirits, enjoying a cup of coffee as we spoke.
He has moved everything out of the old house and commented favorably about their new home. He's 15 miles from work and there's less traffic and cleaner air than where he used to live.

He said that there's more space between houses in his new neighborhood, but nudity would still be "problematic". He added that there's a cornfield behind his yard and merely open fields and a railroad track across the street from his front yard.

They have found a suitable church nearby, but he offered no details on it yet.

Boyd said that they would start out with dial-up Internet and eventually move to some form of high speed access.

If the new job works out, they may eventually start looking for a house with a yard that offers more privacy for nudity, but for now, they are just glad to have the flexibility that renting affords them.

Boyd said that they would welcome visitors. I think it would be fun to get together with everyone on this forum who is a day or less drive from Boyd's house. (or perhaps we can get together at HappytobeAdam's house) for a holiday season dinner.
Guess we could bring colas or a side dish, but in view of the long drive, it might be easier for some of us to just contribute a few bucks to cover costs.

Boyd and I talked about how to encourage more traffic to this forum without losing the warmth. I suggested having a few topic categories, but Boyd felt that there was not enough support for that. It may be necessary to move this forum to another host if we decided to do it. This forum has only a modest selection of features.

I wondered out loud if there were too many forums for Christians who are naturist, but I am not convinced that is the case. Neither of us were ready to say that we had the answer to the question of making BACN busier and better.

Someone in Boyd's neighborhood stopped by to visit, so Boyd had to give up the phone, but he and I had had a nice long conversation and we'd covered what I hoped to talk about, so I wished him a good weekend and said goodbye.

Hmm, maybe I can help.

October 14 2007, 5:58 PM

Hi friends,

Sorry, I haven't been on in a while. It's good to see that this board is still staying active.

Anyway, I design and host web sites as kind of a hobby. I have a server with tons of space, and plenty of extra bandwidth to play with. I would be more that happy to host this site, and set up a new bulletin board for us all to use. It wouldn't be a big thing at all.

This group is one of the warmest and friendliest Christian groups that I have ever come across. And the guidance in the scriptures that I have gotten from Boyd's site has helped me more than I can say with words. We have something good going on here, and I've been blessed to be a part of it.

Yours Naturally,

Erick

I'm in favor of that. It sounds good to me, although I have no say in the matter. Just my opinion.

Hmm

October 15 2007, 8:38 AM

This sounds like an offer that I could use as well (except for the message board) As it stands right now I've got stuff scatered all over between a few yahoo groups, my yahoo 360, an attempt at a geocities website (free version) that needs major help (I just have no idea what I'm doing in that arena) not too mention stuff that I just haven't put up yet cause I'm not happy with the way my webpage looks. If I could concentrate on research and writting my essays (my hobby), and somebody else worry about putting it up on a page and making it look good, that would take alot off of me. I would like to bring it all together into a central Natural Lifestyles website. Items that would be included (this would be a natural health page) nutrition, exercise, natural body health (this would include nudity amoung other things) natural family health, a page for the social nudist group that I founded and then a few odds and ends.

I had been thinking about just getting my reseach and writting done for my website and when I'm happy with the content, just hiring somebody that can set up a site for me. Then suddenly you posted this...hmmm

Daniel

As you know, my bacn website is on geocities too and have much experience with it. The difference is that I have coded my website with a notepad instead of using their awkward tools.

Re: Talked to Boyd Saturday

What I prefer about other forums is the fact that they DO have topics, and it's easier to tell what's new. This forum is OK, but it's not organized. I like organization.

It is called "organized chaos"!

BACN Holiday East Coast Gathering

October 17 2007, 1:23 PM

I love the idea of a Christmas / Holiday gathering but available Saturday's get consumed quickly - especially during the holiday season. I haven't yet filled December but November is pretty much gone. My club's annual meeting and elections is on the 3rd, duckpin bowling (nude of course) on the 10th, Thanksgiving potluck on the 17th, and of course Thanksgiving weekend itself.

White Tail is a bit far for a day trip but I've driven part way on a Friday night, spent the day at White Tail, then returned home Saturday night. Then again it would be fun to visit Allen Parker's chapel on Sunday but I hate to miss a Sunday at home.

Re: Hey!

October 17 2007, 4:48 PM

Hi,
Thanks Daniel for keeping this going! I am sorry that I have not been as active as I would like to be. I am doing this from work, but using my personal laptop hooked up. Since I am not logged in and the laptop is personal, it won't be noticed.

Today, we signed up for a dial up service. From what I understand, that may be all we will be able to get in this area. So any online chats will be slow.

But I'll keep track of this a lot more.

As mentioned above, I did get a call and we discussed this forum and how it rates with others.

Here is what I found. The ones that are requiring users to sign up and log in, tend to attract more abusers. We hardly had any here. With a log in, they tend to remember where they were and become members everywhere. Here, you just show up and if you like it here, will remember on your own and come back. Otherwise, we do not keep a membership profile here. That may be risky on one hand, but as you have witnessed, we had fewer problems.

The reason I do not set up topic folders is because I think it will limit the topics and I do not have the time to go through them and move them to the correct folders like some do. Especially when there isn't a really good folder to put that topic into in the first place.

I also don't have picture folders here as well, for the same reason as mentioned above, correct placing and abusers.

If someone wants to bring up a subject here that we already discussed, we don't say "Hey, look down there, it's already been hashed to death!!", but instead, we pick up and treat it as a new subject at treat that person with respect. I like that. We are not pushing people into categories or noting how long they are members, but each person is treated equally and each subject is treated with the same respect as long as we work at it.

We are not perfect here, but this open dialog is like a running chat room, only we got the history of what we discussed if you got the time to go over them.

I may find the time and resources to created a fancier board, but it will come at a time when I have more time, money, and probably end up building a whole new website with the old articles as well as fresh new ones. That may be another year or three down the road.

We are doing great here, glad to find a place to settle down for a while. We still got to run to Greensboro again for a wedding this time. Maybe we will stay put after that.

Still have not had the time or money to run to White Tail, and probably won't for at least a couple more weeks or so. But as mentioned already, if you are in the neighborhood, come on by.

Well, I better get off for now, but will keep you up to date now that we got speedy 56k dialup!
