Disaster in Omaha

May our prayers go up for the families of the victims of the shooting in Omaha Nebraska. That shocked me when I heard it, and we can only imagine what that is like, to lose someone like that in the middle of an otherwise peace zone.

You practically never hear of problems in places like this, yet it happens and we are all shocked back into the reality that the world is not yet living the Kingdom of God and is hurting in more ways that we can imagine.

Fear is still the leading cause of death, sin and misery.

Don't understand why they do it

December 6 2007, 7:04 AM

If people are going to kill themselves, why do they go out and kill a bunch of others first? They must develop a deep resentment of things that have happened to them and just want to go out and take people out. They tend to do it a lot on the highways, too, not actually kill people but take their frustrations out with really obnoxious and fast driving. Some end up causing accidents or being in them.

This guy did his deed with an assault rifle. Just came in on this mornings news. Why do we allow private citizens to get their hands on assault rifles?

Don't blame the gun

Just like a naked body doesn't cause lust, a gun doesn't kill on its own, it comes from within. Greg

Don't blame the gun.

I would agree, it comes from within. If a person has it in his/her heart to kill. They will find anything that will do the job. If guns were taken away, they will construct a bomb or use poison.

Could We Can It???

December 6 2007, 7:23 PM

I'm hoping we can comepletely avoid any discussions about firearms and who or what kills. Its just another contraversial topic that has no solution or agreement like abortion or elections. I, personally, would like to keep this board on the topic of the joys of nudism and Christianity.

Hello all. I haven't been on in a while, sorry.

Anyway, about this story, I hear that the guy was on a number of psychotropic drugs. Seeing that these kind of drugs cause psychotic "snaps" from time to time, that is most likely why he did what he did. My wife was on these drugs, and they were making her crazy and suicidal. With the help of Jesus Christ, she got off the evil things, and is now perfectly fine.

About the "assault" weapon (what weapon isn't for assaulting?), I have had several, and have never harmed a soul with them. These weapons are actually far weaker than a typical hunting rifle. Just FYI. The guy was crazy and would have killed with anything at his disposal, even a muzzle loader. Guns don't kill people. People on psychotropic drugs kill people.

Love you all,

Erick

Unfortunately, due to the frequency of such incidences, I'm no longer shocked by it. I am disheartened, discouraged, and unable to understand why people do such things. If a person is tired of life and wants to end it, why do they think it's necessary to take others with them--especially when the victims are children?

When you are so alone in yourself that you feel as though you are invisable to the rest of society there is a screaming for attention that knows no limit. One last thing to be seen, and the bigger the event the more attention you get. If you look around the story is played out in life daily. Not always so dramatically as this but the scramble to be seen is everywhere. It's the attempt to fill a void that lead some to Christ and some to distruction and the bad news is according to Gods Word it will get worse.

Screaming for Attention?

December 8 2007, 6:44 AM

Is that why we go naked then? (Speaking psychologically here) Are we "screaming" for attention? After all, would that be something a psychiatrist would suggest?

Of course, those same psychiatrists would have no problem of people who "scream" for attention when they dress up or dress down or dress "normally". What is "normal" to us, is a "scream of attention" to someone else.

The problem is that as nudists, we are considered as a blight to society, not a blessing or service, much like this fellow who took his own life along with others in an effort to get attention. And he didn't allow himself to live long enough to receive the attention he so much wanted. The same for the young man who did this same thing at Virginia Tech.

At least we don't take any lives, and we don't end ours. And whether we get attention or not is irrelevant. As long as we are allowed our freedom in Christ. But can we discuss our potential diagnosis by a psychiatrist and see where we line up here?

I read where he said, "Now I will be famous." What good is that fame going to do him as he's burning in hell?
