| This morning at church we gave people a chance to say something about their fathers. They could be there or not, living or dead. It was very touching, most could not finish without crying. There is a powerful bond between people and their dads. I have to admit, I am afraid to tell my dad about naturism. I may one day but I will have to pray for a lot of courage. I hope everyone had a great Father's day. I hope you still have your fathers around and got to be with them today.
If you have children, I hope today was a blast! If you haven't already be sure to tell your heavenly Father that you love Him. Peace to you all. Love, Big Grizzly Bare |

One thing we learned is that people may not understand how God can be a loving father when all they have as an example is a bad father here. But we were taught that we need to look at the situation the other way around. We need to look to God the Father as the example of what our earthly fathers should be like, not what God is like by using our earthly fathers as examples.
That way we can see our heavenly Father as he really is, then we won't feel so bad about our earthly fathers. We can understand then that our earthly fathers are human after all, and that the heavenly Father will find a way to reconcile our earthly fathers by bringing them around, whether in this life or the next.
But when we see only our earthly fathers in a bad light, we assume our heavenly Father is like that and we lose our potential relationship.
And for us fathers here, we can look to the heavenly Father as the perfect example for us to follow.
Happy Fathers Day to our Heavenly Father, and our earthly fathers!

Satuurday I took my kids to my parents' 50th wedding anniversury party, where I was able to spend time with my father (whom we all thought would have died years ago due to family history and his health) and my grandfather on my mothers side. It was a blessing to be with these elderly men. I know that they won't be with us forever. Grandpa (mid 80's) is in real bad shape, and dad himself (73) is deteriating. Grandpa's remaining brother was also there, and he said that he's in a weakend state. Thank God that they are all still with us though, every moment that we have with them is precious.
Dad, Grandpa, (although it is very unlikely that you will ever read this here) I Love You very much. I just hope and pray that I will be half the man that you have been as I get older.

I am very glad you had that opportunity Dan. My dad is in Florida and the best I could do was call him. Both of my grandfathers died. My mothers dad died in the early 60's (I was around 3 or 4) and my other one died around 87. I did not get to know him much until I was an adult. I had a "step" grandfather (my dads stepdad) and I did know him, but he too died back around 83.
I am fortunate my dad is still around with his health problems. He has had serious bypass surgery and has had a stroke twice and a heart attack at least once, if not twice. I thought he was dead five years ago.
So it's good to hear that he is doing much better. I want to go see him this year, and hope to do so soon.
