It's early Saturday morning, we are at Avalon Resort in W.V. We came Thursday night to meet up with Clothesbegone and wife. Got here at 9PM. We are staying in one of their condos. Friday, around 1PM, Biggrizzlybare came up and joined us. Unfortunately, his wife and kids were not able to make it.
It's raining this morning so I thought I would get on my laptop and give you an update and check my email.
We scouted out the area and decided how to set up the CNC event. We were guided by Jody, the lady here who handles the recreation and activities events. Very nice people, wonderful property, deer everywhere! Absolutely beautiful up here nestled in the Shenandoah mountains. Trees are just beginning to leaf out here, while they have already leafed out at home. So it was interesting seeing the change from "full spring" to "just beginning" as we drove up.
The sooner we sign up for CNC, the better we can plan how we want to set up here. They have several areas for camping, but we chose an area that is very centrally located so we won't feel scattered. It is a 250 acre facility! But we got a good setup here, and we'll have a great time! They have tons of fire wood up here. Seems endless. I think you would just love it here. Since it is in the mountains and lots of trees in June, I doubt it would be that hot here. But if it is, your allowed to take off your clothes!
As much as we want to stay here, we will have to leave here around 1PM so we can get home and prepare for church tomorrow. It's a six hour trip.
