Where to from here?

My wife just went to a job interview in Tampa Florida. I drove her down there Sunday a week ago (not this past Sunday) and got home Tuesday night. While there, we visited one of our CNC friends and associates at Lake Como where we will have our CNC event.

We are still waiting for the job interview results. They had several others to interview as well.

What does this mean? We may have to move to Florida!

I've always lived north which of course means snow in the winter and hot in the summer.

I spent a lot of time in Florida working many years ago and really liked it... Until August... The heat was oppressive. On the other hand, winters were not so bad.

Good luck with the job.

Yeah, I know how it is. You just have to weigh the benefits of the job versus the trouble of moving. I used to be able to pack all my things in a 1967 Mustang and go. Now, its a major pain and agony. But, if its a positive move forward you just have to step out in faith.

The temperature in Tampa has never hit 100 degrees Fahrenheit, ever!
The humidity is high during summer.
When the natives have a few days off in summer they can cool off by:
going to the beaches (Clearwater and Saint Petersburg) or head to the mountains of North Carolina
To a certain extent you can adapt to a hot climate. One possible solution: not wearing clothes!

Sure moving is stressful and inconvenient, but not more so than unemployment.

I was just thinking a minute ago that I hope this is the blessing you have been looking for even if moving is agony. We'll pray it is. We've moved a few times ourselves.

I miss Florida and wish I had stayed there. Now I can't afford to move back. One of the owners asked me today if I would like to buy the RV I'm renting. It's rather old (1990 model), but it's all I could afford. I told her it depends on how much they want for it with it being so old, and it would also depend on how much interest they want.

I really don't like this area with the constant high wind, and with the nights only getting up to the 40's F even now.

Wow, sorry to read that Jon-Marc. Didn't you move out here because someone was stalking you in Florida? Unfortunately, in the desert here the nights get chilly. For our family its been good news since we can easily regulate the house temps by opening or closing windows. Since my employer doesn't seem to have any intention of returning our pay to pre-depression levels its been a real money saver. Also didn't know the wind was so bad where you are. I got a hint of it when we drove out here in 1988, but living in town provides a shield and the Glen Eden resort is in a valley, so they are protected from weather extremes.

We should all make it a point to pray for a resolution to your problem. Unfortunately, being online we can't physically be there, but with the Internet you can express your problem and frustration so we can try for a resolution.
