First of all, an assumption is made that nudists are not sexual. Of course they are. We do not deny our sexuality, and even appreciate the beauty of others.
But the cause of lust is not nudity or the other person. The cause of lust is you.
Jesus Christ warned of lusting after other women. "But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Matt 5:28
What did Jesus say? You will lust after naked women? Did he say the other person is at fault?
No. Jesus did not qualify the state of the other person being lusted after
, what they dressed like or whether they were dressed or not. He focused on your heart, your attitude, the way you think
What about Gays? Can they be allowed to be nude in mixed company? Can they be nude around women? With your logic, Gays are men and men can only be nude around other men. Is that safe?
You wrote about studies by non nudists. Why are they non nudists? Because they are not nudists. They know nothing about it. They are tainted by the idea that nudity equals sex. That is world thinking, not Godly thinking.
What about the way people dress? Do they also dress in a way to encourage lust? I think you know the answer to that one. I don't mean dress for success, but even that can be lusted after. Some women are attracted to well dressed men because they see "Success" and "Money" (another lust factor) and even food can be lusted after.
Do you eat? Are you able to eat at an "all you can eat" restaurant like Golden Corral? (assuming one is in your area). Where does it say in the bible that nudity equals lust and sex? There isn't one. Yet a command to not be glutton is there. Being a glutton is a sin. Yet food is a big thing in churches and many go straight from Church to an all you can eat restaurant and eat like they were starved. You would be surprised how many pastors admit to having eating issues
(and are fat to prove it) and still able to keep their pastoral position! If the same pastor went to a nudist resort to preach the gospel, he will be kicked out and ostracized! (I know them personally) Yet nothing in the bible says he can't!
There are a lot of assumptions which cannot be true for all since you do not know what is in the heart of any one person. You do not know the truth or reality since you have not experienced it and took information from non-nudists.
Sorry, but your logic is flawed. I am happily married and my wife and I, along with our daughter, go to nudist resorts all the time and have never lusted after any one or put ourselves into a position of temptation!
Jesus warned of our own heart and if you lust after others and make "well I'm male and I can't help it" as an excuse, then you are the problem, not the person lusted after
, clothed or unclothed.
Here are warnings of using the world as a standard of behavior and thinking:
(Using the New Living Translation, but can be found in context in any translation)
"Dont copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know Gods will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."
1 Corinthians 1:27
"Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful."
1 Cor. 3:18
"Stop deceiving yourselves. If you think you are wise by this worlds standards, you need to become a fool to be truly wise."
"Dont let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ."
1 Peter 1:13
"So think clearly and exercise self-control. Look forward to the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world." (Note: An opportunity for Christ to be revealed. Jesus became flesh and was a naked human being just as we are, yet without sin. Yes, Jesus became naked flesh just as we are, and you have a chance to reveal Him in you.)
I hope this helps. Look into your heart and think about how God wants you to think. You cannot help nor stop how others think. Me going to a nudist resort will not cause anyone else to lust (If I think that, then I have some serious issues with my own ego) and they will lust after someone whether I am there or not. So saying that I may cause someone else to stumble will not work here either.
We have done much more homework than any of these "worldly experts" because we live it.
