I always feel saddness when I read of one group trying to whiz in the Wheaties of another group simply because the second group has found joy in their lives. I'm referring to the Wisconsin "Christians" joining forces with a canoe rental company to sue naturists because of nude river beach. I've found that when people have something that brings them great satisfaction, someone else seems to want to intrude on that satisfaction. Whether its Christianity, nudism or whatever. We have something they don't that brings us happiness and its just killing them that they can't let go of their lives and social hang ups to find that joy. I'm always amazed at the anger people have when someone is doing something they don't approve of. I'm not speaking of excessive alcohol or drug use because the Bible calls us to respect our bodies and it can affect others negatively in some way, but the Bible also cites incidents of people dancing in celebration naked without shame.
If I could send a message to the Wisconsin "Christians" it would be to let go of your mental hang ups, your lives and your clothes and let the Lord lead you. He would probably tell you to stop looking for problems that don't exist.
Sometimes we forget what we are called to do. Just before his ascension, Jesus said to "go into all the world and preach the gospel unto everyone, teaching them to obey his commands, baptising them in the name of the Father, the Son and the holy spirit."...or something like that!
He did NOT say, "Go into all the world and condemn it."
King David was wearing an ephod when they brought the Ark of the Covenant back into Jerusalem. One of their enemies had it for a while but they captured it back again. As the procession of priests was carrying the Ark back, David danced for joy. While he was dancing, his waist and everything below that was showing to the world, including everyone who watched the procession from the side.
His wife was upset because she thought that was not dignified for a king, (she had her worldly ideas of what a King should be) so she was cursed by God to not have any children....which is the worst curse a woman could ever have!
You can read the whole account in 2 Samuel 6:(all).
