New restaurant in Mantiou (at the former Manitou Bakery/ Breadheads/Sugar Magnolia's location!) Currently only open for breakfast and lunch, but has plans to expand into evening hours. Haven't had a chance to eat there yet, but will do so soon. Nice website:

I wish them luck! :) ...

Um, with the recent history of high turnovers in businesses in that very spot, I'm a tad skeptical at this point about whether or not they will survive longer than a year.

Perhaps if we were cynnical, we should make guesses regarding what month and year they will go out business.

Nice web site though. Impressive!

    This self-described...

..."funky California cafe" has an interesting menu, but being California-ish would not endear it to me, nor would their homepage replete with phallic symbols. I give it 8 months. Hopefully, for the sake of the owners, I will be wrong.

I had coffee at Ned's Saturday

    February 27 2006, 7:18 PM

just before the parade. They had trio playing out front. Bluegrass I think. They were very busy. Most everyone was that day though. I was really surprised that Breadheads went out of business.

We'll just see how long they last ...

Rumors were rent was about $2,000 to $2,500 per month for that particular space on Manitou Avenue. You have got to sell A LOT of food just to break even! There are also utilities, government fees, having a payroll for employees and other types of overhead costs.

I hope I don't sound negative. I just have a friend in Canon City who's running a restaurant and I hear how tough it is! I wish Ned all the best!

We were in MS during the coffin races 10 years ago or so during my first trip to Colorado... what a fun tradition.

    Congrats on your win!
