I currently live in Yosemite Valley - yes, in Yosemite National Park, CA.
Tomorrow, I'll be sending out a rental application for a basement efficiency apartment in Manitou Springs...

The apartment is at "601 Manitou Ave at Deer Path". The craiglist ad for the place is here: http://cosprings.craigslist.org/apa/251622280.html

Do any of you have any thoughts about that location? I know - it is a very basic, no frills place... but the price is right, for right now anyways.

I visited the Colorado Springs/Manitou Springs area last October and really liked the town. I especially liked the "artsy" community & the "Business of Fine Arts" place. I am an aspiring photographer and am planning to take my photography "to the next level" by leaving Yosemite. (All of the successful photographers that started their photography career in Yosemite eventually left Yosemite) You can see photos of me, my photography, and get a bit of info about me by checking out my FLICKR gallery at http://www.flickr.com/photos/wildography There are more than 900 photos there now!

By the way, yes, I am single (divorced)! Hint Hint! LOL

Anyways, I'm always interested in meeting new people - especially photographers & others who share similar interests. I hope to meet some of you by the end of January!

Have a great month!

I think I was in that efficiency a few years ago ...

Someone was having a "yard sale" inside and outside that apartment.

I really don't have any comments about it other than that.

Welcome to the forum!

I've been in that apartment. There's no light. Skinheads used to live there. Buy some plants. Drink lots of milk. Home is what you make of it. Good luck!

I know that area...

one of my childhood friends lived there. It's a neat little part of town, close enough to downtown, but far enough away! Take a walk up to Oklahoma and you get to see a lovely view of Manitou all around!
p.s. I grew up in Manitou, anything you want to know, I might know the answer...
