There was a British Military para team in Florida a year or two ago testing a para suit called the wing which covered about 4-5 miles then from 27,000 feet altitude.

I have seen this carbon wing demonstrated on a few TV shows.

Traveling at 220 mph will be a tough ride with all the gear needed to keep you warm,keep the suit from burning up,oxygen and the weight of the gear needed to go into the LZ to operate with.

Hey but it is a starting concept from which to go forward with.

LOL, I'll be interested to see how well it works with a 150lb rucksack fucking with the aerodynamics.
