I now live in a banana republic which is thankfully not a republic and doesn't have the fruit. The elections in Scotland were a disgrace.
The postal ballot option system is a con with the socialists in power deciding some years ago that it should be expanded to any lazy git who can't be bothered to go to the polling station (in England making it easier to fiddle by immigrant members of their own party). Since the people least likely to go and vote tend to be Labour voters, they changed the system. Clever, huh? Well in Scotland they go astray and don't make it to the count on time.
On top of that, more than 100,000 votes here were spoiled. Some by problems with the computer counting machines, a few deliberately by morons who require knuckle guards whilst walking but the vast majority by confusion. Each voter was given two ballot sheets and three voting systems to cover the Scottish Government, Regional and Local elections. At my polling station, the advisor was giving out the wrong information regarding how to fill in the forms, confusing the voters further. I know personally of another voting station where the same thing was happening. In my ward, there were no less than 11 candidates.
The results should be annulled as around 10% of the vote has not been counted. God help us if these tartan commies ever get their way and Scotland breaks the Union!
