As Acorn say mate, you may find this quickest de-mob then back to active service you've ever encountered.
As you know, you'll be on the active reserve register until you're in your 50s, assuming you stay in Israel.
That said, good luck in your new 'civvie' status mate - enjoy it whilst it lasts...

They've kind of fucked me though.
The IDF doesnt accept only children into combat units without parental consent. I am an only child and for the year before my draft i had to fight with almost every desk jockey in the army to get myself into a combat outfit.
So now i spent 2 and a ha;f years in an elite unit, and lo and behold, i am in a non-combat position for reserves, because i'm an only child.
So now i have more papers to fight through, i told them to forget about me coming to reserves if its not with my guys. |

I know how you feel Shane.
I've got a mate over in TLV who was a Black Hawk pilot in the Air Force and now he's done his time-served ticket, they won't allow him back in (even for/in the reserves) because in a job like that you need to keep your flight skills current, and that means staying in full time - you can't keep your flying hours up once you've left. So he's off the hook, for call-up, come what may.
Good luck with your endeavours mate.
