Aussie rat lovers journey through sickness

my rat was very sick, I thought I'd lost her a few times tried several vets, who 'kindly' suggested putting her down
She's my family, how could I do that! I kept going, finally mey a great vet and we researched together, cappy's (short for cappacino) is still very weak but improving daily.
we eneded up with injections of tetracycline, 10mg per 100g,for seven days.To stimulate, and feed her back up from the 4 weeks ravaging her infection caused a wonderful substance called nutrigel, which she loves.
It's been hard, especially when so few vets are here to access that care enough about small animals but, my am I glad I found andy!
Have you ever tried injecting a rat that has lost over half it's body weight? That's an experience I never want to go through again, especially now she's getting stronger and knows it's coming!!
It turns out that it was ear infection. At least now she's up on all fours and getting playful again. The late night vigils with water and food and assorted other activities are over, almost
